Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely traveling any farther than his pantry or cellar. But his contentment is disturbed when the wizard Gandalf and a company of dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an adventure. They have launched a plot to raid the treasure hoard guarded by Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon. Bilbo reluctantly joins their quest, unaware that on his journey to the Lonely Mountain he will encounter both a magic ring and a frightening creature known as Gollum.

In my opinion this is an amazing book because it has a lot of exiting parts and has a lot of details.it's about a hobbit named Billbo Baggins going on an adventure and finds himself saying and doing unexpected things.Through this journey he fights and escapes goblins, spiders, and some other monsters.

The Hobbit is an action adventure. it does start off a little slow but the action creeps in just a little later. If you read this you'll find it's much better than the movies. It has more detail and DOESN'T leave any thing out.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for the perfect adventure. This book is action packed. It's full of adventure, fighting, and a little humor. After I read this book it was number one on my list.

It may seem kind of long, but after the first chapter or so, it goes by really quickly. IT's different from the movies (like all books are), and if you have the time, you should read this book.
