This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This was and still is one of my favorite book series. The book series follows the adventures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione in their 7 years at Hogwarts. The main character, Harry Potter, has been shut off from the Wizarding World for 10 years. On his 11th birthday, he gets a letter telling him he is a wizard, thus beginning his first year at Hogwarts. I recommend this book to anyone. It truly is a great series and is a must-read for anyone looking for a good fantasy series.

It's about a young wizard called Harry potter. He goes to a school called Hogwarts. He has to face LORD VOLDMORT the evil one.

Everyone tells me, " oh, it looks to long and boring. Plus, I already watched the movie. So, I kinda don't have to read it." I get SO angry at this response! This is the reason I read! Before this book, I was kind of kept to my own variety of books. Then, there was Harry Potter. Now my entire horizon is expanded. Anyone who knows how to read, I suggest this book for you.( I know I only used 5 stars, but I WOULD give it a trillion million bazillian stars.)

Harry Potter is a weird case of on and off for me. I read it until I don't then I think, "I should read this" so I read it and I got to the part where the giant or something comes and I'm like, "Let's read this section so I'm left on a cliffhanger to the point where I have to read the entire book again!" Let's say I just don't exactly like this one.

I read all these in the fourth grade and fith. Stopped in 6th cuz homework. I was a slitherdor

I love this book. ❤️
