A New York Times Bestseller!

The author of the beloved One for the Murphys gives readers an emotionally-charged, uplifting novel that will speak to anyone who’s ever thought there was something wrong with them because they didn’t fit in.

“Everybody is smart in different ways. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its life believing it is stupid.”

Ally has been smart enough to fool a lot of smart people. Every time she lands in a new school, she is able to hide her inability to read by creating clever yet disruptive distractions.  She is afraid to ask for help; after all, how can you cure dumb? However, her newest teacher Mr. Daniels sees the bright, creative kid underneath the trouble maker. With his help, Ally learns not to be so hard on herself and that dyslexia is nothing to be ashamed of. As her confidence grows, Ally feels free to be herself and the world starts opening up with possibilities. She discovers that there’s a lot more to her—and to everyone—than a label, and that great minds don’t always think alike.

Hunt writes a wonderful book with the aspects of learning about friendship and never giving up! With the help of her friends and a teacher that finally understands her, Ally, a girl with dyslexia can show her true self and come out of her shell to learn. What a great book! I would absolutely recommend this!

This book is about a girl named Ally who has dyslexia. She goes to the principal's office A LOT! When she gets a new teacher, he teaches her that you shouldn't be sad or mad about having dyslexia. I hope you enjoy the story like I did!

Fish in a Tree is an inspiring book about young Ally, who moves around a lot since her father in is the military. She doesn't really have friends, and her only talent is drawing. Ally is ashamed that she can't read, so she makes noisy distractions so nobody finds out. She spends most of her time at school in the principal's office, that is until she gets a new teacher, Mr. Daniels, who somehow sees beneath Ally's trouble making. Will Ally stand against those who make fun of her? Will she learn to ask for help? Will she learn to read? I liked reading this book, and I liked the way that towards the end of the story it explains dyslexia in the view of kids. I recommend this book to elementary aged kids and above. I think kids anywhere from 8-15 would enjoy reading about Ally and her struggles. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I really liked this book! It was so great that I couldn't put it down.

This was a good book. It was about a girl who is bad at reading. Her handwriting is bad and she can't spell write. She wonders why she can't be normal. It turns out she has dyslexia and with the help of her teacher she improves. Read this amazing book!

Ally can't read but she can usually cover that up by making everyone laugh. That is she used to. Now Ally has a new teacher named Mr. Daniels and he wants to give her a chance even if she doesn't want to. I really liked this book. It kind of reminded me of the Terrupt books. If you haven't read this book you should!

I did a book review on this book too! Please check it out. And while you are their, please follow me and I might follow you back! P.S. I love Fish in a tree! It is an amazing story about a dyslexic kid!

Fish In a tree is about a middle school girl that has dyslexia. In her life their are bullies and friends. She is made fun of by the bullies in her class because she is dyslexic and has trouble in class assignments. She makes friends that support her and help deal with the bullies. This is an amazing book. Check it out!😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

I bought this book from our school book fair. When my eyes drifted to the pile, I could see stacks of the book that seemed to have been untouched. Usually, I find interest in books with unusual topics. Therefore, I naturally picked up this book and reach the summary. It caught my attention and before I knew it, I was at the check-out line with the book in hand. For the next couple of days, as I strolled around the school from class to class, people would read aloud the title. They would give me strange looks, and ask why would I read such a weird book. If I had had acted like some of my classmates, I would've lost an amazing opportunity to read such an amazing book! When I finished it, all I could say was "WOW!" It was so touching, and it proves that some judgement should come after an opportunity to shine and succeed. When the main character was given a chance to do something and not constantly being looked down upon, she succeeded beyond success. Sometimes, if we give someone that one chance, we might discover a dazzling discovery.

I definitely reccomend this book
