This was a strange one...seems like it was translated from French? First of all this book is all over the place, there is no consistent storyline and I was pretty much confused while reading this. And that’s saying something since I am a qualified teacher. The main girl, Misty is pretty much a brat, she lashes out on everyone and thinks she has the most miserable life, when she actually is very privileged. Now, the “popular girls” they are begging attention from boys and are super annoying. They help Misty get popular for no reason at all except the fact that she will have to “pay them later” whatever that means. They also show off way to much skin and are very mature for 8th graders. Misty and her crush get together, but then suddenly it’s summer and he has moved to Italy, with no explanation as leaves Misty heartbroken. So her and her family go to the beach for the summer, and she meets a boy... I cannot remember his name right now but he takes interest in her. She finds ANOTHER guy she likes and starts “dating him”. She then gets saved by the first boy (can’t remember why) and they kiss, all while her boyfriend is in Italy.
