Is it Life Changing? No. But is it Good? The Fault In Our Stars by John Green is a realistic fiction book centered around two teens. Hazel & Augustus wanted to be with each other, but Hazel kept distancing herself from him. Until Gus uses his Wish so that Hazel can meet her favorite author in Amsterdam, the author turns out to be a rude drunk. But, they enjoy their time together and end up dating. Augustus also tells Hazel that he might not live for much longer. When they get home, he becomes miserable and starts to pity himself. The book is mostly focused on terminal cancer, and what people who live with it feel like. This book isn’t anything revolutionary, but it’s still a good book, and I enjoyed reading it. At some points, the depressive mood might be a little overwhelming, but that just shows how realistic the book is. The writing in the book helps you to sympathize with the characters. I also like that the author made the characters feel more mature. That's the average teenager. I would recommend this book if you’re looking for an enjoyable read without too many hidden messages. However, if you’re looking for a book with a lot of deep meanings that you will learn something from, then this book isn’t for you. Overall, I would rate this book four stars out of five.
