The Stolen Child (The Perilous Land Book 1)
By James A. Connor
The Stolen Child tells the story of Thomas McGuffin, raised as an orphan with no knowledge of his origins. In the beginning days of World War II, Thomas goes to sea with the Merchant Marines. When his ship is sunk by a Nazi U-Boat, he and six other survivors are cast ashore onto a mysterious land, Tir nan O'g, the Irish Otherworld. While there, he learns about his origins, and finds a People, a Love, a Home. Meanwhile, the castaways must choose sides to take up the fight in a thousand year war.
An epic fantasy, The Stolen Child carries the reader to a mythical land, the land of Faerie, the land of magic and violent death. It follows the traditional lines of the Fairy Story, which involves wonder and peril. It is the first volume in a new series called The Perilous Land Series, about the Great War between the Tuatha de Danaan, the magical people of Ireland, and the Sons of Mil, the first Celts to invade the island wrest the land from the ancient gods. However, the war continues as a Celtic clan follows the Tuatha De to their own land of Tir nan O'g, to continue the war fought to destroy the gods themselves.
