Very sad, however good in the beginning, I guess.
I read this book as a younger child and can still to this day remember being truly heart touched by this boom and captivated by emotion. Such a great story, can't wait to read it to my son now.
This such a great book! It is about a loving threesome who range the dark hills and the river bottoms of little Cherokee country. Old Dan had the strength, Little Ann had the smartness and Billy had the will to train them into being the best coon hunting hounds in the country. This is an exciting tale of love and adventure. And I promise you, you'll never forget it.
Where the Red Fern Grows is about this boy named Billy Coleman who really wants some dogs. One day when he is walking, he finds an article that says that there are coon hounds for sale. For two years he works and saves enough money to buy them. Throughout this story, you will venture upon mountain lions, bullies, coons, sadness, and most of all friendship, love, and loyalty. I seriously recommend this book to those who have not read it.
