So, let me be honest. I started reading this book as a Book club book in my class. As soon as we read August' point of view, as well as Via's we fathomed out that the symbols used in the book, such as "the universe was falling apart" showed Via's mature feelings and a simplistic future telling of what would soon happen in the book. August Pullman, a "freaky" boy was to start middle school with other students his same age, which would be a risky chance and difficult, because August had a facial abnormality. Once he enters middle school, and Via enters highschool, both kids are in a fresh new slate. This book takes you through real friendships, actual views of fictional characters, emotion, death of a cuddly animal, and at the end, this book is what is a true ride through magic reality, and everyone is truly a WONDER.

Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.
The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.
I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.
August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.
"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This is a amazing book. It is about a boy with a deform face and when he goes to school almost every one is being mean to him. I recommend this book to all ages from 8-15
When I first looked at the front cover of this book, I realized not to judge a book by it's cover. This book is so touching because it is about a kid who has facial disorders who never gives up. When he starts school for the first time ever in fifth grade, he realizes how many people stare at him. The teachers and students then help him out by comforting him. Overall, this book is SO touching and I recommend this to others and everyone to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
