After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly quiet. His biggest problem is dealing with his new friend, Tyson-a six-foot-three, mentally challenged homeless kid who follows Percy everywhere, making it hard for Percy to have any "normal" friends.
But things don't stay quiet for long. Percy soon discovers there is trouble at Camp Half-Blood: the magical borders which protect Half-Blood Hill have been poisoned by a mysterious enemy, and the only safe haven for demigods is on the verge of being overrun by mythological monsters. To save the camp, Percy needs the help of his best friend, Grover, who has been taken prisoner by the Cyclops Polyphemus on an island somewhere in the Sea of Monsters, the dangerous waters Greek heroes have sailed for millennia-only today, the Sea of Monsters goes by a new name.the Bermuda Triangle.
Now Percy and his friends-Grover, Annabeth, and Tyson-must retrieve the Golden Fleece from the Island of the Cyclopes by the end of the summer or Camp Half-Blood will be destroyed. But first, Percy will learn a stunning new secret about his family-one that makes him question whether being claimed as Poseidon's son is an honor or simply a cruel joke.

this book starts out with a blast and gets bigger and bigger, read this if you are a true Percy Jackson fan

Everything about this book is amazing. It is one of my favourite in the series. It is also an extremely riveting tale. I totally recomend peopke to read it.👍👍😁👍👍

Percy finally meets his half brother Tyson, who appears to be a cyclops, a monster with one eye. Can Percy learn to trust him?

I rate it a 5 star because it is a great book about a boy named Percy Jackson is in a nightmare which he doesn't know he is the son of a Poseidon. I made a connection by Percy having a really bad nightmare which has happened to me before. A summary is that Percy goes through his school and looks around. He found himself in a dodgeball game among him and his classmates against a gang of cannibal giants. He gets out and is still in the nightmare and ends the book.

This was a wonderful second book for the Percy Jackson series. I love the author, Rick Riordan, because he manages to entertain you with hilarious humor while educating you on mythology at the same time, a very hard feat to accomplish. In this book Percy goes on another quest (obviously) but this time he has some different companions with him, including Annabeth , his newfound half-brother Tyson, and Clarisse, much to Percy's annoyance. This time, however, they are rescuing Grover, who has been on his own quest to find Pan. Percy and his companions are also trying to find a very important magical object that could save Camp Half-Blood after what Luke, who recently betrayed Percy and the camp, did to Thalia's tree that protects the magical borders. Rick Riordan once again has written an amazing book that I could not put down. I would recommend this to anyone who likes humor and mythology, and who doesn't like that?

This is a really good review. You did a great job explaining what you liked about the book. Nice job!

9 year old: Sea of Monsters is a really good book and it's funny, SPOILER ALERT!!!! Percy Jackson gets turned in to a guinea pig!!! Hahaha. But Luke, the bad guy, is a meany face! Percy Jackson is the best book series I've ever read on my own, and Annabeth is my favorite character. 12 year old: Greatest book series ever. I've read all the Rick Riordan books, and it started with these.

Again just absolutely amazing. :)
