The ending was just so sudden. If it had a more complex ending then I would've been better but I really recomend you to read this book.
The book City of Ember is by Jeanne Duprau. The main characters are Lina and Doon They live in a city that is running out of electricity,. And there is always power outitches Lina lives with her grandma and her little sister Poppy. She is 12 years old and she is a messenger. She is very lighthearted. Doon lives with his dad. Hew is is also 12 years old. And he is a pipe worker. Doon is also very serious sometimes. Lina and Doon want to save the generator . One day Lina's grandma was looking for something Poppy was chewing on a piece of paper that had very neat "hand writing" , But after poppy chewed on the piece of paper there was missing letters .Doon and Lina found half of the letter and it says to go in the pipe works . Will they finish the paper and save their city? I would recommend this book because it is very adventures.
Lina +Doon live in a city were it is dark. No electricity! Lina is the curious one this adventure. On the other hand Doon is serious. They go on a quest to find light. Will they find light? I would recommend this because its a mystery. If you like treasure hunts, science fiction, and quests what are you doing not reading this book? It also has a series. They find new people on the way. What will Lina+ Doon find?
amazing
Great book we're reading it in class =)
What if I told you there is a world underground? I read the book The City Of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. The genre of this book is science fiction. My opinion to this book is that it is really good. I read this book a couple of times and I also saw the movie. Of course, the movie wasn't as great as the book. The book starts off by introducing the characters. The first chapter is Lina. Lina's overall character is usually very energized. In the book it explains that she loves to run. Once you turn twelve you are assigned a job at the end of that school year. You don't get to choose but all you can do is hope you don't get a terrible one. The job that Lina wanted was messenger. She was perfect for it since she knew the city from each direction and she loved to run. The next character that was introduced was Doon. Doon was really hoping to get a job that had something to do with the generator or the underground sewers. He wanted to change the city. He wanted to change the city because the only “sun” light they will receive is the old and dim light bulbs hanging from the highest point of their underground world. Lina's job wasn't what she expected. She got pipe works… She was devastated to read those words and to say them out loud. Turns out Doon got messenger and they decided to change jobs. Lina was living her dream and Doon was down in the pipes. When Doon finally saw the generator he was so impressed yet disappointed. Weeks go by and their doing all of their jobs until people start so suspect the mayor of the city. Doon and Lina go and find out what the mayor has been hiding this whole time and it was a lair filled with food that could be provided for the whole city. There is also this box. A box filled with secrets and a code. It was kind of futuristic and it really old. You'll have to read the book if you want to find out the secrets and codes that are in the box. Lina and Doon find out more secrets about the city and find a way out to another world…? You'll have to read the book to find out if Doon and Lina make it out safely or at all...
City of Ember book review I read the book, City of Ember, the author that wrote city of ember is, Jeanne Duprau. It first starts off in a rotting city called City Of Ember. The city is underground and is running out of food supplies and energy to keep the lights on, someone needs to do something to fix their city. His book is basically about a city in the future that is underground because on land it is over populated so they moved underground and now they have been living underground ever since. But now two kids want to make a difference but they need more people to join in. They are almost out of food supplies and if they don't get food soon people will be getting sick or they might die. I really think this has been the best book I had ever read, because there is a lot of action going on and also it is science fiction and that is my favorite kind of show. I would recommend this book to someone who likes action and science fiction. I rate this book 5 stars out of 5!
