Now a musical!

Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she's just a nuisance. She expects school to be different but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a menacing, kid-hating headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It'll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!

Here is Roald Dahl's original novel of a little girl with extraordinary powers. This much-loved story has recently been made into a wonderful new musical, adapted by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

My favorite part is when Matilda has powers.

I read this book because I just love Roald Dahl's books. It's about a girl named Matilda, who is in kindergarten, and who has horrible parents who don't care about her, and they pay no attention to her, and somehow Matilda learns on her own, and by the age of 5 she is so smart, her teacher thinks she should be moved up to the highest grade in the school. She has a principal who is mean. But Matilda suddenly gets mysterious powers, and can lift things with her eyes. That helps her get rid of the mean principal, all her problems in school, move up to the highest grade, and then suddenly, her powers. And while her parents leave her behind and move to another country, Matilda starts to live in her dear teacher's house, now her guardian and best friend.

This story is about a little girl called Matilda who has the most stupid and meanest parents in the world. She learned to read at the age of 2 and at the age of 4 she could speak like an adult, do math like a grown up, and read like a 25 year old girl. Her wish is to go to school and have a good friend. Along the story there are lots of twists and turns. Will her wish ever be granted? And if it does.. Will it be different from what she thought? I enjoyed this book because it has a mix of funny, sad, angry and happy moments. I like how Roald Dahl invents such good stories that are things that could happen in real life too. I recommend this book to anyone who would like to read about smart Matilda and about all her adventures. Read this fabulous book and I promise, you won't regret it!
