Now a musical!

Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she's just a nuisance. She expects school to be different but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a menacing, kid-hating headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It'll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!

Here is Roald Dahl's original novel of a little girl with extraordinary powers. This much-loved story has recently been made into a wonderful new musical, adapted by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

I love this book! Basically, Matilda, a very intelligent 5-year old, has been hated by her parents from the moment she was born. They both think she is dumb, useless, and reads far too much while she should be watching TV. When she finally is enrolled in school, she encounters her pleasant teacher, Miss Honey, who realizes her intelligence and tries to inform her parents, but she also encounters Agatha Trunchbull, her dangerous headmistress who hates children. When she gets angry one day at Miss Trunchbull, she discovers a hidden talent she didn't know she had. And when she is invited to Miss Honey's house, she uncovers her nice teacher's horrible past. With her newfound talent, she tries to heal a wound that's been open for ages... This is an awesome book that I'd definitely recommend to people who like a taste of mystery and paranormalness in their books. Love it!

i wanna read this book sooo bad!!! i saw the movie. i wanna read the book and see the play on broadway!! its sooo interesting!

Matilda is a very interesting book. Matilda is just a little girl. But tun she has Ms. Honey and Ms. Trunchbull. Ms. Honey is very nice. Ms. Trunchbull is very mean. Ms. Trunchbull has tortured every kid in school.

Matilda by Roald Dahl was an ok book but, personally I think the movie was better. Matilda is about an incredibly smart girl's first year at school.

Its so sad Matilda has horrible, rude, and crude parents and principal. Happily , she has a great teacher :)

The Trunchbull was really mean and her real name was Agatha. Miss Honey's name was really Jenny. What I liked about the book was when the Trunchbull picked up the girl by her pigtails - that was kind of funny and cool, but when she threw her, it was not. Matilda was cool because she was like a super hero with her eye power.

Matilda is such an amazing book and movie! This girl is such a genius and outsmarts her family by light-years! LOL You should definitely read the book or watch the movie!

One thing: YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! This is an amazing, heartwarming story that will make you feel like you are right there with Matilda. Roald Dahl, YOU GO!!!!

This is a fabulous book about a young girl who is hated by her parents and has been ever since she was born. Despite this she is a genius. By the age of 4 she has already been able to take care of herself while her parents and older brother are gone. Soon she has even began to walk to the library by herself. Unfortunatley, her parents don't beleive in reading and try to encourage her to watch television instead. Thankfully for her, her father decides to send her to school at the age of 7. The principal of the school is cruel and does not seem to care for children. The only person who seems to understand Matiulda is her teacher, who helps her discover her secret powers. I won't give away anything else and let you read it for yourself!
