Now a musical!

Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she's just a nuisance. She expects school to be different but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a menacing, kid-hating headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It'll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!

Here is Roald Dahl's original novel of a little girl with extraordinary powers. This much-loved story has recently been made into a wonderful new musical, adapted by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

Matilda is the perfect book about a girl with extraordinary brains who plays tricks on her dim-witted parents and headmistress. It is super funny and shows you that sometimes, adults aren't always the smartest. And Roald Dahl bends the humor just the right ways to make you laugh every time. It's one of those books that I'll always have on my book shelf. Recommended to ALL ages!!

Matilda is a book about a girl who is very smart and loves to read, but her parents just never seem to notice her.

i saw the musical and the book iks just as good if not better!!!!

I have seen the movie and I also love Roald Dahl. In fact he is one of my favorite authors. Matilda is a genius girl born to a bad family. Her family ignores her and do not realize her potential. She befriends her teacher who sees her brilliance. She helps solve some of the schools problems and her teacher's. Soon enough, her teacher adopts her and she lives a better life. This is a wonderful read for people who like Roald Dahl or want excitement and wonder.

This book is about a girl in a family that doesn't want her, but finds a power of her own, telekinesis. Using her newfound abilities, Matilda hopes to change the ways of her awful parents and harsh principal.

I loved this classic book. I loved that I could relate to what Matilda was feeling about each book that she read. Roald Dahl wrote books that were different from other books, like Matilda. Although they troubled adults/parents, they delight children. It shows an intelligent, nice child overcoming evil, stupid adults. The humor in the book appealed to me when I was about 7, however the humor will be unfunny once you turn 10 or 11. The pacing in the book was excellent, as always in Roald Dahl's many works. I felt that this was somewhat similar to The BFG for some reason. Anyway, this was a very quick read (I reread it). It was certainly a good break from When You Reach Me, which was AMAZING. This was a very lighthearted novel with beautifully described characters - especially Miss Trunchbull, Miss Honey, and Matilda. Overall I would recommend this book to everyone and anyone.

am dieing to read this book it looks intresting!!!!

Matilda is yet another exstrordinary tale my Roald Dahl. Matilda, already reading adult books by age 5, has to attend school with Miss Trunchball. Miss Trunchball, not only a horrific sight but a horrific person, is so stern she will pick you up by you hair and the next thing you know you are flying through the sky. Matilda eventually discovers she can move objects with her mind and puts Miss Trunchball running for life.

The book Matilda is by Roald Dahl. This book is made up of imagination. Matilda, a smart 6 year old girl, is the main character. Her parents and the school principal, Miss Trunchbull, don’t care and are mean to her. Matilda wishes she had a loving family because her parents don’t care about her. When she goes to Crunchem Hall Primary school, she meets Miss Honey, her teacher. Miss Honey was a quiet teacher that cared for her students. Miss Honey is amazed at how many multiplication problems Matilda can do. Miss Trunchbull blames Matilda for causing bad things to happen to her. Matilda goes into Miss Trunchbull’s house to steal back Miss Honey's doll because she cares about Miss Honey. Towards the end, Matilda's family has to move to Spain, but Matilda wants to stay with Miss Honey. Then her parents say yes. Finally, Matilda has a loving family. This is a funny book with a happy ending.
