Over 6 million people have read the #1 New York Times bestseller WONDER and have fallen in love with Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face.

The book that inspired the Choose Kind movement.

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse.

August Pullman was born with a facial difference that, up until now, has prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Starting 5th grade at Beecher Prep, he wants nothing more than to be treated as an ordinary kid—but his new classmates can’t get past Auggie’s extraordinary face. WONDER, now a #1 New York Times bestseller and included on the Texas Bluebonnet Award master list, begins from Auggie’s point of view, but soon switches to include his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These perspectives converge in a portrait of one community’s struggle with empathy, compassion, and acceptance.

"Wonder is the best kids' book of the year," said Emily Bazelon, senior editor at Slate.com and author of Sticks and Stones: Defeating the Culture of Bullying and Rediscovering the Power of Character and Empathy. In a world where bullying among young people is an epidemic, this is a refreshing new narrative full of heart and hope. R.J. Palacio has called her debut novel “a meditation on kindness” —indeed, every reader will come away with a greater appreciation for the simple courage of friendship. Auggie is a hero to root for, a diamond in the rough who proves that you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

This is a great book! No lie, I think I cried a bit last time I read it but it teaches a lesson. So what if you aren't normal? How you look shouldn't matter. Don't judge a book by its cover. What you may see on the outside isn't what you may see o the inside.

This book is fantastic! I read it in 4th grade and it was so realistic. I totally recommend it for ages 9 and up.

I love this book I am on my third time reading it and I absolutely love it so much thank you the writer of wonder I don’t think that I can say her name but you are amazing thank you again I also love auggie and Olivia but my favorite I Olivia she is so nice and caring like idk how I would live without the book it is amazing and wonderful I am gonna watch the movie soon which is so cool! Again I love this book

I just started reading this and so far I really, really liked it. Its more interesting than I thought it would be.

This is a amazing book! Pros and Cons first. A thing I didn't like was how the author put in random people's story, like Justin, and why did you have to have Daisy die? A thing I did like, was how the author included IMPORTANT people's stories, like Summer, Jack, and even Miranda. Main characters: Auggie, Via, Summer, Jack. Side Characters: Julian, Savannah, Amos, Henry, Miles, Miranda, and a lot others. Here is the plot: Auggie's face is unique, different, extraordinary, surprising, any other word you can think of that isn't normal. He's gone through numerous surgeries, including eye surgery, but it hasn't helped. So when Auggie goes to middle school, can you guess what happens? People make fun of Auggie laughing, and playing dirty tricks. He meets Summer, a nice girl in his grade. He also meets Jack, a nice boy that is always with him. Auggie's enjoying school, besides mean dirty tricks, until Halloween. He didn't go in as his Boba Fett, he went in as a scary mask character. He hears Jack talking to Julian, and hears him say "I would kill myself if I looked like that," and Auggie's sick for Halloween and a couple other days. Jack eventually asks Summer why Auggie's acting like that, and she tells him one detail. What Auggie was for Halloween. Julian still asks why Jack hangs out with Auggie so much, and then Jack punches him in the mouth. Mean while, Via has trouble with her friend, Miranda. He gets a suspension, and tries to apologize to Auggie on Facebook. They become friends, and everything is great. Mean while at home, Auggie accuses Via and Mom of lying to him, and that's when Daisy, dies. They get a new pup, named Bear. Auggie's happy until they go on a trip, and meet a bunch of 7th graders who are smoking in the woods. They make fun of Auggie, because of his face, and it gets into a lot of trouble, starring Amos who knocks out a few, Miles and Henry punch a few, and then they all escape into a corn field, but then Auggie looses his hearing aids. They all retreat back to the movie area, and when they go home, they find out the 7th graders took Auggie's hearing aids. After all that drama, people start to be friends with Auggie. They call him "little dude" and actually want to play with him. After all that hard work, Auggie finally feels happy with his new friends. Definitely a 5/5 book! I totally recommend it!
