This Newbery Medal winner that has a fantastic puzzle at its heart has been called “smart and mesmerizing,” (The New York Times), “superb” (The Wall Street Journal), and “incandescent” (The Washington Post).

When Miranda starts receiving mysterious notes, she doesn’t know what to do.

The notes tell her that she must write a letter, a true story, and that she can’t share her mission with anyone—not even her best friend, Sal.

It would be easy to ignore the strange messages, except that whoever is leaving them has an uncanny ability to predict the future. If that’s the case, then Miranda has an even bigger problem—because the notes tell her that someone is going to die, and she might be too late to stop it.

this book is amazing and proves you don't understand the world as much as you think. I love mystery so it might just be my opinion that I LOVE this book.

kinda confusing but if you read it two times it gets clearer. other than that it is an amazing book that you should defiantly read

This book was a little confusing. It was not very clear of what happened at some parts. Otherwise, The book was amazing. I thought it had a good plot and I thought the ending kinda explained more of happened at some other parts. This book had some foreshadowing that clued me into who I thought was the person coming for the main person Miranda. The beginning was a little slow but it got better. A lot of events that happened were unexpected. You learn a lot by the end of the book.

A great book, i highly think you should read it.

Also recommended by Donalyn Miller. Set in 1970's. Her mom is trying to earn a spot on a game show. Slowly the girl is getting clues that leads to a big surprise!

This book is a great mystery and proves some things and has great explanations to everyday questions.

OMG! If you like mystery and time travel, you will LOVE this BOOK!!!!

Five stars I love this book I read this in 5th grade too =^_^=

I read this book for my school's Reading Olympic's program and it is really one of the best books that I have ever read. At first the plot is a little boring but towards the end you can't put the book down. The ending blew my mind and was not what I would have expected. I highly recommend it.

This is by far one of my favorite books. It combines relateable teen struggles with science fiction and completely unexpected plot twists. The writing style is reminiscent of Madeline L'engle, author of A Wrinkle In Time, which is mentioned in the story. It's incredible and thought provoking, I'd recommend it to any age reader.
