TOOK is a book for people who like scary! Old auntie takes a little girl and keeps her for 50 years. Old auntie makes the girls work day in and day out. The family in the book moves from a busy city to a creepy old house right next to the woods. Old auntie has a old hog that has razor sharp teeth as sharp as a mountain lion. the older brother knows there something wrong when his little sister starts wandering out into the woods after school every day with her doll. She is talking to someone out in the woods. Do you think it's old auntie. Well I guess you will have to read the book to find out.
AMAZING!!!! The Took book by Mary Downing Haun is my favorite book. Its a fiction book that is scary and it’s about Daniel’s (Daniel is the main character)little sister Erica (Erica is also a main character)being kidnapped by a lady named Old Auntie. Erica talks to this doll and she meets selene the girl that got kidnapped. When i was reading the first chapter it put shivers down my spine so i knew i just had to read the rest and i did and it’s now my favorite book.
It’s scary and creepy it’s just a book when you start to read it you just want it to go on forever. I love when you find out selene didn’t age at all from when she was kidnapped ! But my favorite part is when Bloody Bones chases Daniel. It’s so nerve racking!
If anyone LOVES scary books then you should read this book along with all of Mary Downing Haun’s other books. My second favorite is Wait till Helen comes. If you want to get into a book get into the took book.
