This is a great book that really moved how I think about the world. The book all starts in London, England. Ada has never left her house, and to her mother, she is a worthless rat. Ada lives with her brother Jamie who is just like everybody else. Ada on the other hand had a clubfoot. When WWII comes around, Ada Jamie and some other kids are sent to the countryside to be safe from all the bombs. Ada and Jamie had to sneak out of the house to get on the train to go to the countryside. They live with an older woman named Ms. Smith who doesn't want to do anything with children. Ms. Smith helps the 2 needy children, and comes to love the children for who they are. Ada and Ms. Smith help each other, and Ada's clubfoot could possibly be fixed! Jamie and Ada also got what they never received... to finally be LOVED!!!!!

This book is very sad but I never will want it to end. I read it so many times, my mom finally noticed and she bought it for me! The girl in the book, I forgot her name is very kind-hearted. That's why she's my favorite character. Read this BOOK!!!
Ada has never left her house. She was born with a club foot. Her mother never loved her, never wanted her. She treats Ada horribly and acts like it's Ada's fault that she has a club foot. It's as if Ada is not even a real person! When WWII breaks out, Ada's little brother Jamie get's sent away to somewhere safer. Ada sees her chance, and snatches it up. She sneaks away with her brother. They are sent to live with Susan Smith, a moody woman who doesn't want anything to do with children. She comes to love Ada and Jamie as she struggles with her emotional past. Ada works with Susan to overcome her unique challenges, and to start being what she was meant to be; loved.
Normally when I think of world war 2 it think of bloodshed and battle, but not like the main battle in this book. The battle in this book is more deep and life learning than any stupid bloodshed war, I like how Bradly tangles the two into a amazing novel.
I have not read this book yet, but am excited to. I love to read books about WW11 because it makes me think about how much our world has been through.
The War That Saved My Life is about a girl with a deformed foot and she has a HORRIBLE mother. She isn't allowed out side of the apartment and can't walk. World War 2 rolls around and her brother is sent to a safer place, she sneaks away to. Together she and her brother managed to stay safe and maybe stay safe forever. I really liked this book because you really feel as if you were in her place struggling to survive.
I was crying at the end. What an amazing story. It makes you appreciate your parents a lot more. I learned a lot about WWII and orphans.
it was a great book I had mixed emotions with this book at some points it was happy and joyful even know there was a war going on. There is and girl named Ada who doesn't get treated well by her mother her mother is mean to her since she has a crumpled leg she says that it was all Ada's falt that she has a crumpled leg but it was just what happend when Ada was being born. Ada has a brother named Jamie who his mother treats him better than she has Ada because he dosen't have a crumpled leg .
This has to be one of my FAVORITE books! This book is REALLY AMAZING! It is a mix of: sad, action, and JUST AMAZING I really can't describe it. You just have to read it. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT!!

I think this article is really , really sad . Ada's mom was so cruel back then , even if this isn't a real story , it probably was but , with someone real . I feel really bad because her mam made her do all the work , even if she can't walk . This book made me really angry at her mam . I liked the people that were in the story , and the way got described in the book . This book is really interesting and emotional . I hope you read it , and actually like it .
