Miles Murphy is not happy to be moving to Yawnee Valley, a sleepy town that’s famous for one thing and one thing only: cows. In his old school, everyone knew him as the town’s best prankster, but Miles quickly discovers that Yawnee Valley already has a prankster, and a great one. If Miles is going to take the title from this mystery kid, he is going to have to raise his game.
It’s prankster against prankster in an epic war of trickery, until the two finally decide to join forces and pull off the biggest prank ever seen: a prank so huge that it would make the members of the International Order of Disorder proud.
In The Terrible Two, bestselling authors and friends Mac Barnett and Jory John have created a series that has its roots in classic middle-grade literature yet feels fresh and new at the same time.

This is one of my favorite books. It is funny and exciting and I recommend it to everyone!
Miles Murphy, your average prankster, is anything but happy at his new home in Yawnee Valley. Cows, cows, and cows as far as the eye can see. For goodness sake, people count how many moos a cow makes in a day for fun! That should tell you something, in my opinion. Anyway, Miles decides that he's not going to tolerate that kind of boredom. He'd make an even more memorable prankster reputation than at his old school! But turns out, there's competition. On the first day of school, the principal's car is parked at the school entrance at the top of the staircase. Who is this mastermind? Will Miles and this mysterious stranger pull the biggest prank in history? Read more to find out.
This book was very good! It had a lot of unexpected twists (like niLES!) and a lot of very good prank ideas. I liked how the book had some pictures in it-it kind of reminded me of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. And I liked the cow facts, they were very informative. Overall I would highly recommend this book for any pranksters or wanna-be pranksters.
hi i like this becase it has lots of fun stuff
The Terrible Two by Mac Barnett and Jory John is a funny and amusing book that opened my eyes to what pranking can be. It shares the story of two boys, Miles and Niles, who are accidental friends. At first, Miles hated Niles because Miles was the pranking king at his old school. In Yawnee Valley, Niles was the expert, and might even have been better at pranking than Miles! But soon, the duo decide to join forces and pull the biggest prank yet. This was a really good book, and I recommend it for anyone who would like a quick read with realistic fiction and humor.
6 Reasons Why You Should Read THE TERRIBLE TWO 1) Ever pulled a great prank? The characters in this book may just have you beat. For example, in the first few pages someone pulls the ULTIMATE prank on the school principal. This book will make you want to become a member of the super secret pranking society known as the International Order of Disorder. 2) The book has really short chapters that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Be careful you don't stay up TOO late devouring chapter after chapter under the covers with your flashlight. (I'm a teacher. I had to say it.) 3) You'll meet two hilarious characters who will have you laughing out loud constantly. Miles and Niles will become so real to you that by the end you'll swear they're good friends of yours in real life. 4) Do you know what it feels like to be the new kid in town? Pretty tough, right? Well, you'll be able to understand exactly how Miles feels. He's forced to leave all his friends behind and move with his mom to a boring little cow town called Yawnee Valley. 5) Speaking of cows, you'll learn all sorts of funny, weird facts about these lovable bovine creatures. For example, "Cows have 360-degree panoramic vision. Want to sneak up on a cow? You can't. They see you." Crazy! 6) In this book, the drawings, hand written letters, photos, and cartoons are just as cool as the writing itself. If you're a fan of the Wimpy Kid Series or James Patterson's Middle School books, then you'll love The Terrible Two by Mac Barnett and Jory John. Bonus: This book is brand new. Grab a copy ASAP to be one of the first kids to read it in 2015!
This light-hearted, comical book was one of the most bizarre, yet heart-warming books I've ever read! When Miles moves to Yawnee Valley, he wasn't expecting his title of the "Prankster" to be...well, out pranked. But that's exactly what happened, as he stands outside of his school on the first day, with a car parked on the steps. But will Miles desperate attempt to out prank the car act succeed? Or will it go down with a big splat? Read to find out!
same with me!! it was really good
This book came in a milk carton. Yes a Milk Carton, it was really cool. I didn't understand why until I started to read the book. This book is full of pranks and is really funny. The book is full of pictures just like Diary of wimpy kid. The pranks are really funny and both of the main characters are hilarious. You have to read this book to see how the two boys unite together at the end which is the best part. Warning the book starts of slow but gets better by the end. A good read for boys and girls....
In a word, The Terrible Two, cowritten by two funny authors and illustrated by another, is clever. The pranks in this book - and off the pages - thrilled me - and made me laugh - with how smart they were! For example - the book comes in a milk carton! {It also comes with your very own mug and another small thing} I was surprised at how much I liked this book, though it is probably best for boys, I thought it was pretty good, myself! An interesting change from the usual stuff I read! :)
