Since his mother’s death six years ago, Carter Kane has been living out of a suitcase, traveling the globe with his father, the brilliant Egyptologist Dr. Julius Kane. But while Carter’s been homeschooled, his younger sister, Sadie, has been living with their grandparents in London. Sadie has just what Carter wants — school friends and a chance at a “normal” life. But Carter has just what Sadie longs for—time with their father. After six years of living apart, the siblings have almost nothing in common. Until now.

On Christmas Eve, Sadie and Carter are reunited when their father brings them to the British Museum, with a promise that he’s going to “make things right.” But all does not go according to plan: Carter and Sadie watch as Julius summons a mysterious figure, who quickly banishes their father and causes a fiery explosion.

Soon Carter and Sadie discover that the gods of Ancient Egypt are waking, and the worst of them—Set—has a frightening scheme. To save their father, they must embark on a dangerous journey—a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family and its links to the House of Life, a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.

Riordan books are the best Carter and Sadie are nothing alike Mother got killed and the Egyptian gods and goddesses are awakening They must stop Set from building the Red Pyramid Then found out Aphohis was deceiving Set to awaken him

Everybody HAS to read this captivating novel with Egyptian Gods and Goddesses and two anything but ordinary kids. Carter and Sadie are strangers to each other despite being siblings. When their father disappearers they must learn about who they truly are, and they must ally or fight against many of the Egyptian Gods that are actually real. This book is an amazing read that you will never be able to put down once you start.

The Red Pyramid is a book that keeps you coming back for more. It is one of the best books I have ever read and is full of adventure. Sadie and Carter Kane have lived apart since there mothers freak accident. One year Sadie's father visits her in in London and brings her brother. There father destroys the Rosetta stone and releases 5 gods and goddesses. Sadie ends up sharing a body with the goddess Isis and Carter with the God Horus. They find out they are Egyptian Magicians. They have to save the world and their father from Set the god of evil.

This the best series by this author. I love ancient Egypt, and this is an interesting insight into it. This book is classic Rick Riordan with the typical save the world from the evil immortal being. Recommended for anyone into mythology.

YEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Rick Riordan!! This book was sooo good! It just sucked me into the Kane universe and left me wanting more! I immediately read the second and third books and you all should too!

This book, along with everything else Rick Riordan has written, was amazing!! While learning about Egyptian mythology, you are sucked into the awesome world of the Kanes and are left wanting more. This is definitely a must-read.

This book is about Carter and Sadie Kane, two siblings that don't live together. As Carter, Sadie, and their father meet up in London where Sadie lives, Carter and Sadie realize that dad is up to something. Their dad explodes the Rosetta Stone, releasing things (which to find out what or whom the things are, you MUST READ THE BOOK!!!), and sinks into the floor in a coffin. Carter and Sadie are taken to Brooklyn by a not-so-stranger where they learn... READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!!! THIS BOOK CAN'T BE EXPLAINED IN FULL DETAIL IN ONE PARAGRAPH!!!

This book, alongside the rest in the series, are so well written and so interesting. The characters have a lot of personality that makes the series seem so much more vivid and intriguing to read. I also loved the aspect of adventure and magical powers. This book overall was amazing :)
