I think this was a great realistic book. It had a lot of action and bravery so I wanted to read chapter after chapter. The only reason I didn't like this book is because it was modern and no magic. I think this book is a trouble-making journey.

This summer the Penderwick sisters have a wonderful surprise: a holiday on the grounds of a beautiful estate called Arundel. Soon they are busy discovering the summertime magic of Arundel’s sprawling gardens, treasure-filled attic, tame rabbits, and the cook who makes the best gingerbread in Massachusetts. But the best discovery of all is Jeffrey Tifton, son of Arundel’s owner, who quickly proves to be the perfect companion for their adventures.
The icy-hearted Mrs. Tifton is not as pleased with the Penderwicks as Jeffrey is, though, and warns the new friends to stay out of trouble. Which, of course, they will—won’t they? One thing’s for sure: it will be a summer the Penderwicks will never forget.
Deliciously nostalgic and quaintly witty, this is a story as breezy and carefree as a summer day.

This was a great book! My favorite character was Batty because she is a little girl like me. I loved reading about all the sisters' adventures. Whenever we finished a chapter, I always wanted to read more and now I want to read the whole series!
The Penderwicks is a good book with a lot of adventure. I really liked it. I recommend his book to you if you like adventures.
I loved most of the book. It was kind of scary when the 3 girls plus Jeffery thought that their dog, Hound, had killed the bunny, Yaz. But after that, one of the girls named Rosalind, touched the bunny and suddenly it seemed as if the bunny was breathing. It was crazy that everybody else gasped because Yaz had opened his eyes! And that made me feel surprised and pleased with the book!
A amazing book that lots of different people will love! With four sisters with various personalities , you will love them all at the end of the book and want to start reading the next one immediately.
Even though this wasn't my favorite book, it still had some good parts. It took a while to get interesting. I liked the conflict in the storyline. There was a great scene with a bull. I know some other kids who really liked this book but it just wasn't my kind of book.
You might want to judge this book by its cover. I did. It was a big mistake. When my mom finally convinced me to read it I read the first page thinking that I was about to be bored out of my brain, but I wasn't. I really liked spending time with the Penderwicks. Rosalind is the oldest she is the most responsible and has taken care of the family ever since their mother died. Skye is next she is slightly rebellious but really just wants to have fun she also really likes math. Jane is the writer of the family she is always daydreaming or writing stories about her character Sabrina Starr. Then there is Batty she is the youngest and always wears a pair of wings her best friend is their dog Hound. The four Penderwick sisters have fun in the summer with new friends summer loves and the grumpy lady from next door.
This is a great book and is very exciting. It has lots of unexpected twists and I recommend it to everyone.
This book starts out as a little weird twist in the story that makes the story ripple together. I has some few moments wear held the greatest amounts of fear but then the happniess encounters it all making the story cheerful and cheerishing.
i like this book because of the adventure, fun, and because of the Latin that was in it. I'm studying Latin and i could understand a few of those words which was fun. I love the boy and the three girls. they were all awesome. but i think my favorite character is the boy and the girl in the middle.
