Warning:
this description has not been authorized by Pseudonymous Bosch. As much as he'd love to sing the praises of his book (he is very vain), he wouldn't want you to hear about his brave 11-year old heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest. Or about how a mysterious box of vials, the Symphony of Smells, sends them on the trail of a magician who has vanished under strange (and stinky) circumstances. And he certainly wouldn't want you to know about the hair-raising adventures that follow and the nefarious villains they face. You see, not only is the name of this book secret, the story inside is, too. For it concerns a secret. A Big Secret.

It was a awesome mystery about two friends. One journey, To find out what happened to the magician. This is and unforgetable story that you can read over and over again.

A thrilling start to the secret series in which a classmate gets kidnapped and am evil group is plotting against them, Bosch pens a story where Cass and Max Ernest battle the evil Midnight Sun.

Cass(supposedly her name) and Max Ernest( supposedly his name)go on an epic adventure trying to find out what the golden lady ( who supposedly drinks monkey blood) and Pietro's brother are up to. It turns out that they are trying to find out about a mysterious dangerous secret. What do you think it is?????!!!!!

Considering how many good reviews there are for this book, I doubt anyone will listen to me, but oh well. I didn't like this book. I got kind of bored. The character development isn't the best, and I don't like how the author can't tell you ANYTHING. One thing I did like was how the author broke the fourth wall a lot. I thought that was clever, but other than that, I didn't like it.

Cass, a survivalist, is approached by Max-Ernest, a stand-up comedian and magician, while looking for toxic waste one day on the playground. While at first they are wary of each other, they soon team up to solve a mystery of a missing magician, a secret, a strange box called "The Symphony of Smells", rotting eggs, two mysterious people, and a journal. This is a great beginning to my one of my favorite series, although I'm not supposed to say that it's good, otherwise people might read it! It was a little spooky at times, but overall this is an awesome book. The author is hilarious, the illustrations are great, and pretty much all of his books have at least one interactive activity hidden inside. If someone randomly walked up to me and asked me to recommend a great book, this would be the one!

awesome,i like this

this series is really good! i recommend it to any other mystery lovers! But make sure you hide it from the you know whos.....

Cass Is a survivalist in training. Max-Earnest is a magician/comedian wanna be. Together they made a hilarious team that made me never put the book down! The author was funny and the mystery was great. it felt like you went inside the book and watched every move of Cass and Max-Ernest solving the mystery

I read this book, and I really liked it. It is a book about a girl that may or may not have been called Cassandra, (that is the name used in the book) and a boy that may or may not be called Max-Ernest (that is his name in the book.) The book is about how Cassandra and Max-Ernest find a story about a man called Pietro's life. They come to a point in the story where Pietro and his brother are separated by a lady that matches the exact description of a lady they had seen only a few days ago. Just a little later on, a boy in their class is kidnapped, by the lady, who drives away in a limousine that says "The Midnight Sun Sensorium & Spa" Cassie looks The Midnight Sun up, and goes there as a Skelton sister, who in the book one of the famous make up producers Called the Skelton Sisters (they are actually sisters.) When she gets there, she meets a butler called Owen. He shows her to her room, and she goes to sleep. The next morning, he brings in a drink, with bits of gold inside. After, she has a mud bath, also with gold bits. At dinner, Max-Ernest comes in, and Cassandra accidentally spills a glass of wine on the lady's gloves. She turns out to be really old. When a large group of people have a meeting in the pyramid building, Cassandra and Max-Ernest start a fire, and save the boy. They get away with Owen, who turns out to be a spy. When they get home, everyone is happy. Except for the principal, who thinks Cassie and Max-Ernest kidnapped the boy.

This look is really cool and it makes you feel as if you are inside the story.
