Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

I LOVE ALL OF THESE! Gah so good. Recommended for everyone of all ages.

This is book one in a serise of 5, and I liked this the BEST. It contained a lot of adventure, and mostly revolved around the Greek mythology. It was easily narrarated, well laid out, and a smooth plot that is exciting and page turning. I will highly recommend it. Amazing book.

Haha, if you look at my review on the page before yours, we have completely different opinions :D I did have the same opinion as you when I was nine, but for some reason, this series.. grew on me lol, I don't enjoy it as much as usual anymore :D Instead, I focus on Heroes of Olympus more!

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN WHEN I WAS READING IT. READ IT PRONTO PRONTO

Great boook!!!!! could not put it down!!!!!!!! i totally recoomend it !!!!!!!!!

I loved this book tremendously, and I recommend it to any reader that likes fiction novels. My favorite character in this book is Percy because of his bravery, and persistence. This book was an exciting quest that I absolutely couldn't stop reading. I think the message in this book is two things: #1 Be brave and #2 always try your best. Also, I think you would like to know what this book is about, so here's a summery… Percy Jackson was a normal sixth grader, in a normal academy, (as everyone would like to think). Percy had been kicked out of every school he was ever in, and he wasn't a troublemaker. Trouble just seemed to find him, so accidents happened frequently. Then on an ORDINARY school field trip a few things happened:#1 Mrs. Dodds blamed him for pushing Nancy Bobofit into the fountain who was asking for it #2 He found out Mrs. Dodds was a monster #3 He found out gods like Zeus and Hades were real and #4 He found out there was such thing as Half Blood Camp. Those facts changed his life forever…

Percy Jackson And The Olympians is a great book. This book is for seven year olds and up. It is about a boy who is half-god which is the same as half blood. He goes to a half blood summer camp, and is sent to do a quest with two kids to help him along. Percy is the son of the sea god Poseiden. He is blamed for stealing a really really powerful lightning bolt and he has to return it to Zeus in the course of ten days. This book is fiction. It is very exiting, interesting, and suspenseful! My favorite parts is when Percy goes in water because in water, he is very powerful in water. I recommend this book and give it 6 out of 5 stars. If you like fiction and greek mythology you should really read this book! P.S If you never read greek mythology because it is in this book try it because this was my first greek mythology book and I loved it! Enjoy!

this book is so good. i is about Percy jackson a normal student until the lightning bolt was stolen. But everybody is blaming percy for steeling the lightning bolt and he didn't have it. With some help from Annabeth the daughter of athena, Godess of wisdom and some help from grover half goat and half human. Along the way they Luke son of hermes gave percy a shield. And they have to get pearls to get to hades. But they didn't realize that luke had stuck the bolt in the shield that he had given them and in time they gave the bolt to zeus the god of the sky.
