Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

i am reading this book because my mother brought it and EHHH its good

i have the whole series which is wild

THIS SERIES IS AWESOME (actually all his books are awesome

The start of an awesome series with action, adventure and comedy that u will NEVER FORGET!!!! I promise, and I don't make empty promises!! ;D

Tbh, all the girls I know that have heard of this series all want to be Annabeth. Eh, well, I will tell the truth. Even I say I want to be Annabeth :) Of course, Rick Riordan does a great job on writing these books. I don't think this is spoiling, but in my opinion, I think the 3rd-5th books of this series were too cheesy. The second series.... It's TOO romantic! I mean, besides that, if Rick Riordan didn't make it too romantic, everything would be great. That's my opinion. My sister loves romantic stuff, so she is totally fine with it. In the Lightning Thief, Percy is accused of stealing Zeus's lightning bolt. When I first listened to the first chapter of this story, I really was into the book. I hope you enjoy the book, too :) Thank you for reading my book review!

I loved these books and all of the other books I have read by Rick Riordan. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover's adventures are super exciting and funny. I recommend this series and the Heroes Of Olympus Series. AWESOME!!!!!!!

Where to begin? Rick Riordan brings you into a whole different world. Every page you turn you find out something new and exciting. When you tell your mom one more page you mean don't interup me mom. This is book for everyone.

*SPOILERS ALERT!* I really like the Percy Jackson series. I say adults can read it, too (right now my dad is interested in the 3rd book lol.) The first book was like the only book in the series that had Nancy Bobofit. I say the second book was better than the first. I laughed at the part where Luke said "My Percy, you're out of practice." I don't know if you guys thought that was funny, but I did. The 3rd book wasn't that interesting to me. Thalia became a hunter of Artemis. New characters! 1. The hunters of Artemis 2. Zoe (hunter of Artemis) 3. Bianca (hunter of Artemis) 4. Nico de Angelo (Bianca's sister)5.Daedelus /Quintus. I only thought the part where Annabeth fell off the cliff was interesting. The part where Zoe died and Bianca died was interesting, too. There were other parts that were interesting (omg stop saying interesting!) in the book, too, but I don't feel like naming them. In the forth book, they found the lost god Pan! And, um should I say this? Okay, I will. Percy and Annabeth had their first kiss. And new characters!!! Okay here are the new characters. 1. Rachel Elizabeth Dare 2. Calypso 3. Jupiter (Grover's girlfriend) 4. The Cloven Elders. In the fifth book, the demigods fight Kronos. Luke dies. He sacrificed himself to SAVE OLYMPUS! And Percy and Annabeth kissed 2 times at the end. Percy was the child of the prophecy, Thalia wasn't because she became a hunter of Artemis. Nico didn't either because he wasn't 16. The name of the 1rst book is The Lightning Thief. The 2nd is The Sea of Monsters. The 3rd is The Titans Curse. the 4th one is The Battle of the Labyrinth. The 5th one (the last 1) is The Last Olympian. I hope you like the books! Umm, I didn't tell you all of the stuff in the books if you read my review (so sorry I spoiled it I had to LOL.) I rate every book in the series 5/5, except The Titans Curse. That one I rate 4/5. It wasn't that interesting to me.
