Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Woah kid. Im sorry cape, but Percy Jackson is a quality book series and i am shocked you would just put that out there. Harry Potter is amazing, but so is this. They have different stories and i think its not cool to beat up on one just because its different. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. Percy Jackson, keep rockin' it!

Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief is written by Rick Riordan. It is a very exciting story about Greek gods and Greek myths. My favorite part is when Percy fights Ares the god of war because this part is very interesting. This book is fantasy. Percy takes a quest to get Zeus his master bolt . There is a surprise ending. There are a lot of mystery’s for example can mortals see monsters? This book is so amazing for example Percy can control the waves and can breath in water!! I recommend this book to 3 grade and up.

This is my favourite book of all time! There is lots of action, but it's told in a hilarious way, which always made me laugh. Once you pick up this book, you can never put it down! I've read it over 10 times, and you can never get sick of it!!

I love this book! It's an easy read i read it in like 3rd grade but i still reread the series and i love how clever the chapter titles are and how easy Percy is to relate to.

it is so boring i wonder why people like this book. Harry Potter is so much better than this

Percy Jackson is a teen boy who is about to be kicked out of boarding school for almost the 8th time. What else would he do but defend his best friend from a bully, who just happens to be the principle's favourite? And defend himself from his teacher, who turns into a monster and attacks him? Percy thinks he's going crazy until his mother slightly explains things, and a Minotaur chases him to a secret camp. He is surrounded by people like him, called "Half Bloods." Percy is wrapped into a journey he will never be able to forget, as he learns more about himself.
