When Percy Jackson gets accused for taking Zeus's lightning bolt and his mom is killed by the Minataur because Hades wants the bolt and unleashes the Minataur. Also Gabe his horrible stepfather says he is a fugitive Percy Jackson is desperate to prove he is innocent! This book makes me feel really bad for Percy and his mom. My opinion is that (Poesidon is a COOL GUY and) THIS STORY IS SPLENDID!!!!

Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.
Book Reviews (1484)
i have this book at school.
I read this book back in third grade, and it was awesome! However, I never really continued the series. I just skipped it and went straight to Harry Potter. This book is about a very troublesome Percy Jackson, who turns out to not be such a normal kid. He's a Demigod. One day he meets Annabeth and Grover at a camp for children of the Gods, and together they go on a quest to retrieve Zeus's lightning bolt for him before he blames Percy's father, Poseidon, for the theft of it. If you really like Greek Mythology, then this is the perfect book for you. Maybe one day when I finish reading Harry Potter I'll finally read the rest of the series.
Great book. It's packed with adventure and greek mythology.
This book is good it is amazing and cool . It is involved in Greek mythology and is very popular. Enough said.
I love this series, I was instantly hooked! I watched the movies first (do NOT watch the movies before the books, they are nowhere near close to the books.) I thought the movies were OK and my friends suggested this series to me so I thought to myself "Why not?" So there I was finding myself staying up to the early hours of the morning reading this series. Without further ado, lets get on to the book review! Percy Jackson has always lived a pretty quiet life in Manhattan with his mom and step dad. But, Percy always wondered to himself who his REAL dad was. That time has come. Percy finds himself in a camp of people who he doesn't know and apparently he is a demigod (A.K.A Half-blood) who has been sent to a camp of his kind. He finds himself being accused of stealing Zuse's lightning bolt, and he must embark on a dangerous quest along with Anabeth chase (Demigod) and Grover underwood (Satyr) in order to restore peace to the gods before its to late. To fulfill his quest Percy goes to the under world, a tacky casino and many other places! Will Percy succeed and find out who the lightning thief really is? Or will he fail and war brick out between the gods. Find out of the first book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series!
THIS IS THE BEST SERIES EVER I AM TELLING YOU GUYS YOU HAVE TO READ IT PLEASE RIGHT NOW IM READING THE TRIALS OF APOLLO YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME I FINISHED READING THE BOOKS RICK RIORDAN WROTE A LONG TIME AGO
On a scale of fabulousness according to the Greek gods Percy Jackson is more fabulous than Apollo THINKS he is
This is literally my favorite book series... I mean I actually like it better than Harry Potter. I think Rick Riordan is a better than J.K Rowling but she IS fabulous and that is just my personal opinion
This is a good book for all ages. Rick Riordan's books are fun and interesting. While they are funny, they also teach the reader about mythology- Greek, Roman, Norse, and Egyptian.
