For a full hour, he poured lemonade. The world is a thirsty place, he thought as he nearly emptied his fourth pitcher of the day. And I am the Lemonade King.

Fourth-grader Evan Treski is people-smart. He’s good at talking with people, even grownups. His younger sister, Jessie, on the other hand, is math-smart, but not especially good with people. So when the siblings’ lemonade stand war begins, there really is no telling who will win—or even if their fight will ever end. Brimming with savvy marketing tips for making money at any business, definitions of business terms, charts, diagrams, and even math problems, this fresh, funny, emotionally charged novel subtly explores how arguments can escalate beyond anyone’s intent.

Lemonade. That's people-smart Evan and math braniac Jessie's specialty. It's also what helped them start a war. Jessie, Evan's sister ( who should be going to 3rd grade), is joining him in 4th grade. Imagine the humiliation of being out-smarted by your younger sister! That's terrible news for Evan, considering he's trying to hit the spotlight this year. And then it started. The war. The lemonade war. Jessie doesn't understand why Evan is so mad, but then again, understanding people is her weakest subject. When these siblings take a bet on who can reach $100 first, but from selling lemonade. Things take a turn for the wrong when things suddenly get serious. Very serious. In fact, so serious that now not only is Evan mad at Jessie, but she's also mad at him. She loves Evan, and doesn't want to stay mad at him, but to win this war, that's her only choice. Will these siblings stay at war for the rest of their mind-boggling lives, or will they unite? If not, who will win? Find out in these amazing Jacqueline Davies book!

I loved this book! It's about a boy and a girl that are siblings. They have two separate lemonade stands with different ideas. I would read this book if I were you!

very good

I really love this book. The moment I started reading it I could not keep my eyes off of it! It is about one brother named Evan and a sister named Jessie. They are very different from eachother. When Evan finds out that Jessie who is two years younger than him, is skipping grades and going to be in his grade, he gets very upset and starts a big fight with her. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is age six or older. It is a real page-turner!

Warning! This review contains spoilers! Although they are siblings, Evan and Jessie are complete opposites. Evan is smart when it comes to people. Jessie is smart when it comes to numbers. In fact, Jessie is a lot better at math than Evan even though she's a year of two younger. So when Evan finds out that Jessie is going to be in the same class as him, he's really mad. And so the war beings. What I thought of it: Evan was pretty annoying. I really didn't like him. Jessie was even more annoying. I pretty much hated her. When she dumped all those bugs into Evan's lemonade, I just couldn't stand her. That one thing is what really made me dislike her. Another thing: I don't get why their dad had to have left them. It just seemed like something that was completely unnecessary and just through into the plot for no apparent reason. Their dad could have had a useful role. I couldn't stand the writing style. I pretty much sounded like an adult trying to sound like a child. Overall, it was a really bad book and I don't recommend it to even my worst enemies.

I forgot to to rate that comment :) Five stars
