Orphan, clock keeper, and thief, Hugo lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station, where his survival depends on secrets and anonymity. But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric, bookish girl and a bitter old man who runs a toy booth in the station, Hugo's undercover life, and his most precious secret, are put in jeopardy. A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, a mechanical man, and a hidden message from Hugo's dead father form the backbone of this intricate, tender, and spellbinding mystery.

This book is a movie now. I love it

when I read this, i was in 3rd grade and on a car trip. I thought i might read this book and when i started, i couldn't put it down. i got to say it has a really good plot all though like 1/4 is pictures. alot of people hate the pictures but i think they help you sort of imagine where they are, what the train station looks like, how many toys there were (sorry if you haven't read it). I rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I did't like it a bunch.But it's okay.
