Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

It all aboutthis girl that risk her life for he sister

this book was the best book ever!!!!!!

Three words: BEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [And a few more] I am an addict to these books and movies!

This book is about the nation of Panem, which is in North America. It is a country that have a wealthy Capitol region that is surrounded by 12 poor districts. Their ruler is President Snow, but even though he is a "president", Panem isn't a democratic country. Earlier in Panem's history, the 13 districts led rebellion to turn on the Capitol. The 13 districts lost and district 13 was destroyed. In punishment for rebelling, the Capitol forced each district to provide a boy and a girl between the ages 12-18 as tributes, and only one person could win, the districts were also forced to celebrate it as a holiday. The main character, Katniss's sister was chosen during the reaping as a tribute, and Katniss volunteered to take her place. The male tribute, was a boy named Peeta. Katniss and Peeta faced many challenges in the arena, they have to fight tributes that were bigger and stronger than them and have been trained for their whole entire lives. I really liked this book because it's an adventure book but it's not too violent. It had many emotions to explain the character's life because the author was writing from a 1st person point of view, so it was almost like we entered the world of Panem. And I don't get bored throughout the book because every chapter was thrilling and exciting, even though I already watched the movie, I am still excited when I read the book because there is so much more description in the story.
