Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

SO GOOD!!!

This book is about the nation of Panem, which is in North America. It is a country that have a wealthy Capitol region that is surrounded by 12 poor districts. Their ruler is President Snow, but even though he is a "president", Panem isn't a democratic country. Earlier in Panem's history, the 13 districts led rebellion to turn on the Capitol. The 13 districts lost and district 13 was destroyed. In punishment for rebelling, the Capitol forced each district to provide a boy and a girl between the ages 12-18 as tributes, and only one person could win, the districts were also forced to celebrate it as a holiday. The main character, Katniss's sister was chosen during the reaping as a tribute, and Katniss volunteered to take her place. The male tribute, was a boy named Peeta. Katniss and Peeta faced many challenges in the arena, they have to fight tributes that were bigger and stronger than them and have been trained for their whole entire lives. I really liked this book because it's an adventure book but it's not too violent. It had many emotions to explain the character's life because the author was writing from a 1st person point of view, so it was almost like we entered the world of Panem. And I don't get bored throughout the book because every chapter was thrilling and exciting, even though I already watched the movie, I am still excited when I read the book because there is so much more description in the story

It was the best book in the series! The movies don't do it justice.

This is one of the best series I've read. The main character in this story is a girl that had no right to do anything or speak for herself named Katniss Everdeen. The world she lives in is controlled by the Capital and they conduct a Hunger Game every year to revenge what they had done. In this game, every district (there are 12) has to select one boy and one girl to join the game. Unfortunately, Katniss's sister got selected, out of sister's love, Katniss decided volunteer for her sister. In this game, she had to face the cruelty of humanity by killing someone she doesn't even know or watching people she loves getting killed. But also she realised, someone she thought she doesn't know actually loves her so much. There will always be someone in the dark supporting you. At the end of the game, Katniss finally decided to not let the Capital control them, because everyone should be able to take control of their own life. And that also told everyone in the world that they have the power to rebel and fight against the Capital if they are willing to. I love this book because it's very intense, it made me feel totally into the book when I'm reading. This is a really good book and also movie.

ilove this book I love the movies read this or watch it I don't care but ingest this story

This book is talking about a girl that lives in a world that have 12 different districts and they have to listen to the capital. Every district will need to chose 1 boy and 1 girl to fight with other district every year. The main character: Katniss, her sister is selected. But Katniss volunteer to replace her sister to go fight with other district. I like this book very much, because I think it is interesting and sometimes it is scary. I think I learn from this book is don't be afraid and be braver when someone really need helps.

This is one of my favourite series out of all, because this is the one that has the most originality. In this book, the main character is Katniss Everdeen. She lives in a world where she has no right to do anything or speak up for herself. The Capital was in control of everything. Every year, the Capital will conduct The Hunger Games in order to revenge what they had done. In the game, every district (there are 12) has to select one boy, one girl to compete with each others. The one who survived will get repaid by living with rich and wealth for the rest of their life. Unfortunately, Katniss's sister got selected, out of sister's love, Katniss decided to volunteer for her sister. During this game, she experienced the cruelty of humanity. Killing the people she doesn't even know just because of her own survival or even seeing someone she knows got killed. At last she decided to not obey those rules, and stand up for herself. This book taught me that no one can be controlled for no reason. When you stand up for yourself, nothing can stop you, but all you need is a clear mine and courage. I really like this book because I've watched the movie and I loved it. After reading the book, I learnt a lot more about what the characters are thinking in many different perspectives. And also, of course, it's a very interesting book.

This book is about a girl who lives in a world where there were only 12 different districts lead by the Capital. Every year the Capital chose a pair of boy and girl from each district which is above 12 year old and below 18 year old and let them kill each other in an arena. There can only be one winner in the game but the winner gets wealth forever. The Capital designed the game to exercise his power that it has over the districts so that they don’t fight back. The challenge that Katniss faced was that she had to survive the game and feed her family. I really like this book because it has lots of actions. The storyline is also very enjoyable and not too hard to understand. I’ll definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves a good read.

Awesome book! Best ever!
