Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before - and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Collins delivers equal parts suspense and philosophy, adventure and romance, in this searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present.

I want to read this book really bad! I have heard that is really good. I have watched the movie and it was amazing!!!!

Hunger Games is a very exciting and tremendously thrilling book. In the first half of the book, the author describes the setting and the main concept of the book. The main concept which endures many readers is the concept of fighting to the death. There are many sad parts and exciting parts in the book. The Author's style of writing is very descriptive which lets the reader connect with the book very well. Overall, I think that The Hunger Games is a very Thrilling book which I think is worth everybody reading.

It is a really good book. Theo book is full of action. This is the first science fiction book I have read and I liked it a lot.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering about what would happen next. It was an emotional rollar coaster. It made me laugh, it made me cry it was hands down one of the best books ever.

It is a good book if you like to read about adventure and love story together in one story.

i love this book it is my 2nd fav book of all time (my 1st fav was mocking jay)

This book was a really interesting and fun book to read! The author Suzanne Collins, is great at describing the setting in every scene. As I read this book, I could imagine every scene including Katniss's district, the capital, the arena, etc. This series is highly recommended for anyone because the author chose to write about a topic that no one else would have ever thought of. The plot Suzanne Collins came up with for this story was a very amazing and well-thought out plot that really captures the reader's attention. This book is recommended for mostly ages 10 and up, but overall, it is a great book!
