The House of dies drear is a magnificent book to read to others and yourself.Its full of riddles and its scary.You will end up with cliffhangers .I think this deserves a five star rating because its a fantastic book to read with other people.The book talks about the Under Ground Railroad and more.In the book Thomas found the Under Ground Railroad and heard oh sounds down there.There is also long chapters.
The House of Dies Drear is a magnificent book. It can be pretty creepy at times and has fascinating history behind it that will make you want to stay up all night. The house of Dies Drear is about a 13 year old boy who moves from Ohio to North Carolina and gets involved in extremely intense situations. Including a trashed kitchen and getting trapped in an underground tunnel. An old man named Pluto was acting strange at night but totally fine at daytime. It turned out that Pluto had a son named Mayhew. That is why there two different sides of Pluto. This book was very interesting and I highly recommend it to kids around the middle school age.

You will be attempting to decipher the mysteries hidden in each chapter. The House of Dies Drear contains numerous characters with important roles and strong personalities. The Small family moved to North Carolina. Their father Mr.Small, purchased the old and eerie house of Dies drear. Thomas, the son of Mr.Small begins his first days at his new house by being pushed forcefully by Max Darrow into an underground tunnel made for the slaves to escape. Down in the dark tunnel he felt as if he wasn't alone. After some time down there he began to hear oo-ing sounds. This terrified him. He then end up being pulled into his kitchen by his mom. She opens up a secret passage leading from there kitchen to the tunnel. What an introduction to a new house. The House of Dies Drear is an amazing story. However the most alarming part is when Thomas is stuck in the tunnel hearing oo-ing sounds. That ends up being the Darrow Boys. The story lacked frightening events and these events could have made the book better. The novel is also very slow at certain points. It does contain interesting facts about the slaves and the tunnels. However they may not interest you. The story is fantastic, I highly recommend it.

This adventurous book has a lot of twists, along with a boy named Thomas. House of Dies Drear is filled with critical and breathtaking actions. It’s an 8/10. If you like a book that is sometimes scary but calm at the same time, this is your cup of tea. Beneath the rigid 3 story house there is a tunnel that was an underground railroad. This book has hidden clues all over it. When the son of Mr.Pluto came out to scare Thomas and his dad it wasn’t that scary. If you want a really scary book this isn’t the one for you. I think the book isn’t that great.
This magnificent book is filled with heaps of shocking adventures. However, the House of Dies Drear, at some points is very dull and boring. I was expecting this book to be very frightening but the whole plot of the book was not very creepy or alarming. The House of Dies Drear is filled with numerous adventures. One of them was when Thomas and Mr.Smalls ventured into Mr.Pluto's cave. Another adventure They had was at the beginning of the book. When Thomas went in the tunnels under the house he heard a o'ing sound. One last adventure the Smalls had was when they scared away the Darrow boys. Pluto was sick and the Darrow boys were trying to find the hidden treasure. The Smalls had to help Pluto and Mayhew protect the treasures past. The whole book was fantastic but I was expecting this book to be very spooky but the whole plot was not very creepy. At some points of the book in the book l could tell the author was trying to make it eerie but it didn't work out. Now l can see some people getting scared but to me it just didn't have that effect. Perhaps like at the beginning when it was very slow.
