Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely traveling any farther than his pantry or cellar. But his contentment is disturbed when the wizard Gandalf and a company of dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an adventure. They have launched a plot to raid the treasure hoard guarded by Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon. Bilbo reluctantly joins their quest, unaware that on his journey to the Lonely Mountain he will encounter both a magic ring and a frightening creature known as Gollum.

I thought it was hard in some places to read in some places, but the book began in a wonderful way. And besides it being, again, not understandable in some places, it was very good and pretty funny. I recommend this.

I can't wait to read it. I hope it's good.

My book cover says "the enchanting prelude to The Lord of the Rings" ,and as far as I am concerned that is true.

Love the Book watched the movie

This is a great book! In this book, Biblo Baggins finally has fun with his life, and goes on an adventure with Gandalf and dwarfs.

doIhaveto? doIhaveto?

Gem110, I like Harry Potter so, will I like it

Imersive and creative!! Great fantasy read! Fans of Harry Potter will love!

yeah... I read it. harry is way better but the hobbit movie is good enough for me

J.R.R. Tolkien always has a special place for me. He was a genius (not saying that JK isn't), and created an ENTIRE Elvish alphabet! His masterpiece is held high, and so is Rowling's. I absolutely love Harry Potter and the books are up there too.

the best book ever

i do not like but my friend loves it

What in middle-earth are you talking about? IT'S AWESOME!!!!!
