“Two-headed monsters, giant tentacles, angry demons – Lovecraft Middle School is great creepy fun!”
–Ransom Riggs, author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Strange things are happening at Lovecraft Middle School. Rats are leaping from lockers. Students are disappearing.  The school library is a labyrinth of secret corridors. And the science teacher is acting very peculiar – in fact, he just might be a monster-in-disguise.  Twelve-year-old Robert Arthur knew that seventh grade was going to be weird, but this is ridiculous!

Professor Gargoyle (Volume I in the Tales from Lovecraft Middle School series) is full of bizarre beasts, strange mysteries, and nonstop adventure.  It's perfect for readers ages 10 and up. Best of all, the cover features a state-of-the-art “morphing” photo portrait – so you can personally witness the professor transforming into a monster.  You won't believe your eyes!

“Gilman's debut and series kick-off is great fun for fans of light horror. The changing image on the cover will snag interest, and the spookily realistic black-and-white illustrations throughout complete this slick, scary, funny package. [There are] delectable hints of age-appropriate, Lovecraftian Otherness...with none of the purple prose.” –Kirkus Reviews

i really liked this book it was my type of style

i really want this book! all of my friends told me its a really good book and i went to the library and the book store but they didnt have it, but luckily i went to dogo books and here it is, they are giving this book away! i really hope i get it.

This book was one of the best books I've read. It was really intriguing and I enjoyed it a lot. One of the best parts of the book was the cover. It had the type of material where you could scratch it like on some Valentine cards except I've never seen it on a book. If you turn it side to side it shows a normal Professor and Professor Gargoyle. The book is about a seventh grader named Robert Arthur who's life has turned upside down. He was forced to switch schools while all of his friends stayed at the other school. The only person he knows at Lovecraft Middle School is the bully who had been tormenting him for years and will stop at nothing to get every single dollar out of Robert. Lovecraft Middle School has just been built and has everything state-of-the-art, but Robert doesn't like it. Things get even weirder when rats start jumping out of the brand new lockers. To top it off, his science teacher may not be human. With the help of some unexpected new friends can Robert save himself let alone Lovecraft Middle School? Professor Gargoyle was a fresh and exciting book. I can't wait to red the next Lovecraft Middle School book: The Slither Sisters!

Thanks for explaining that !! Now I want to read it! :)

i hope i win the contest and get a book becuse it sounds really good

This is a great book!! it's a quick read that's very well written. It has an awesome monstrous changing cover and cool creatures like a giant spider. It's about a seventh grade kid named Robert that transfers over to a new school called Lovecraft middle school that just opened and it is really hi-tech. Robert doesn't know anybody except a bully from Robert's old school named Glenn. Glenn likes to tease Robert and make him give him money. But really weird stuff is happening to Robert at school: rats came jumping out of lockers, students are disappearing, and tentacles are grabbing people. You'll have to read this to find out what happens to Robert and the school. This was a very engaging book and I hope you can get a chance to read it too!! I think this book is good for kids 9-and-up because at some parts it might be a little creepy for younger kids.

Plain amazing

Wow!! This book is amazing!! I just finished reading it and I loved it!! It might be a little scary for younger kids, but it is still a GREAT book! :) I love the holographic cover and the illustrations, but the best part was reading the story. It's not often a story has me reading it from beginning to end without pause, but this one did. My favorite part was when Robert sees Professor Gargoyle turn into a monster! I think one of the reasons I liked this story is because it has adventure and fantasy, but is about a seemingly typical 13-year-old boy. I would totally recommend this to any of my friends, girls and boys! Also if you liked Percy Jackson then you will probably love these stories! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
