This incredible, original story captures all of the humor, awkwardness, fun, and frustrations of middle school--all told through one boy's comics, journal entries, letters, doodles, and newspaper clippings. The setting? A galaxy far, far away...
Roan's one dream is to leave home and attend Pilot Academy like his older brother, father, and grandfather. But just as Roan is mysteriously denied entrance to Pilot School, he is invited to attend Jedi Academy--a school that he didn't apply to and only recruits children when they are just a few years old. That is, until now...
This inventive novel follows Roan's first year at Jedi Academy where, under the tutelage of Master Yoda, he learns that he possesses more strength and potential than he could have ever dreamed. Oh, and he learns other important things too--like how to make a baking soda volcano, fence with a lightsaber, slow dance with a girl, and lift boulders with the Force.

This book is awesome. The drawings are so good also. If you like star wars you will love this. The story starts out with Roan getting a letter that he wanted his hole life it was to get into pilot academy but he got declined from pilot academy. His last thing to do was to go to gardening school but he got excepted to Jedi Academy his friends and parents said you only get in when you are a baby but Roan got in.
This book is super funny it has all star wars things it is about a boy and he wants to go to pilot academy but then he gets a letter in the mail that says he is not going to be a pilot but then he gets a note to be a Jedi in Jedi academy. If you read this book you have entered the star wars Jedi academy.
Absolutely great book! Hilarious and a fun story! My favorite part is when the main character , Roan, imagines Yoda. He imagines Yoda as six feet tall, with bulging muscles, battle scars, and with two Samurai swords on his back. Instead, he's two feet tall, green, has lots of ear hair, and talks backwards. I reccomend this book to people who enjoy funny comic books. I would also reccomend Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Big Nate to readers who like this book.
Very few books make me laugh aloud, but this is one that certainly does! I have been an avid reader of everything Jeffrey Brown puts out, so I'm THRILLED that he has written a kid's book. It's adorable and I am in love with the illustrations!
