I love this book one of my favorite books and I rate it five stars this book is magical

This book is about "Mibs" Beufort and her quest to save her father. When turning thirteen she will get her Savvy and hopes to help her father who is in the hospital. Her mother is a perfectionist, brother Rocket works with electricity, and her grandfather can move mountains. Sh traveles on a bus with a few other interesting characters and goes on a magical journey.

I like this book. It was funny, cool and totally Savvy. I recommend this to everyone who likes magic and the supernatural. Until next book! ~Wolfram

I read this book last summer, but it was so interesting that I find myself wanting to read it again. The plot was so interesting and unique that it immediately sparked my interest and I had so much fun reading it and not being able to put it down.

I have not read this book yet, but if I could choose my savvy, it would be to use ice to do lots of things like make a pathway in the air

I really liked this book because everybody in the family has weird superpowers. If I got a savvy, I would want to be able to create electricity.

This book is outstanding because it's about a family who gets powers when they are teenager. It's called a savvy when they get their power that is impressive most of the times.

This book is about an unusual family. The Beaumont family. In their family, when somebody turns 13, that person gets a special power. Mibs is the one getting the special power in this book. But before she has her birthday, Poppa is hurt terribly and Mibs needs more than magic to fix the problem. I recommend this book to people who love adventure, magic, and fiction!

Mibs Beaumont is about to turn 13. For normal people, it means that you are officially a teenager. For a member of the Beaumont family, it means that you are about to get your savvy, a special power which shows itself on your 13th birthday. Mibs’ Grandpa Bomba can move mountains, her brother Rocket can create electricity or make huge power outages with a bad temper, and her other brother Fish can create hurricanes. When a car crash involves her father two days before her birthday, Mibs only wants a savvy that can save her dad, who is unconscious at the hospital. After Mama and Rocket leave their home in Kansaska-Nebransas, Mibs can’t take it anymore. So at her birthday party, she hitches a ride on a pink bible bus with Samson her brother, Bobbi and Will Junior; the preacher’s kids. On a urgent journey to get to the hospital, Ingrid Law writes a fantastic story about a girl trying to save her Papa. My thoughts: I thought this book was incredible! It was written very well, and has a great story line. The cover made me check it out of the library, and I am so glad I did. I think it definitely deserved the Newbery Honor, and Ingrid Law definitely deserves a lot of praise for this amazing story. If you are a fan of adventures and want a good book to read, this book should definitely quench your thirst for a great book. I can NOT wait to read Scumble, another book by Ingrid law that follows someone else in the Beaumont family, as well as other books by her. I definitely have my eye out for more books like this one ! Overall: 9.25 out of 10 Stars

the Beaumont family has harbored a magical secret. They each possess a “savvy”—a special supernatural power that strikes when they turn thirteen. Grandpa Bomba moves mountains, her older brothers create hurricanes and spark electricity . . . and now it’s the eve of Mibs’s big day.
