Twelve-year-old Catherine just wants a normal life. Which is near impossible when you have a brother with autism and a family that revolves around his disability. She's spent years trying to teach David the rules-from "a peach is not a funny-looking apple" to "keep your pants on in public"-in order to stop his embarrassing behaviors. But the summer Catherine meets Jason, a paraplegic boy, and Kristi, the next-door friend she's always wished for, it's her own shocking behavior that turns everything upside down and forces her to ask: What is normal?

it looks like a good book.
This book is spectacular! It is about a girl named Catherine and her relationships with her brother and friends. Her younger brother named David has autism. She just wants David to be normal. To help him, she makes up multiple rules for her brother. But, David still has trouble sometimes. I would absolutely recommend this book!
i really think that Jason is an interesting (wink, wink!) character. hee-hee
I have more to say! I love this book!! It's about a girl named Catherine who has a younger brother named David that has Autism. David does crazy things and embarrasses her. So, Catherine comes up with rules for him. For example "no toys in the fish tank." And "don't stand in front of the TV when other people are watching it." Then, she meets Jason, a boy that can't talk and is in a wheelchair. And a surprising kind of relationship is formed. Also, she meets a girl her age that is moving next to her. Catherine wants to be best friends with her. But will David ruin it all? Or will they become best friends? A true lesson of friendship and sibling love is learned in this excellent novel.

This book is really good! It is about a girl who has a brother named David and he has autism. She trying to live a normal life but she thinks it is impossible with David. She also has a new neighbor moving in next door and she doesn't want David to wreck their friendship. If you haven't read this book you really should!
Amazing. I can relate well since I have an older autistic sister. I highly suggest it for kids or adults who have don't have any autistic siblings and don't know anybody autistic well. :)

I read the book Rules. It is about a girl named Catherine and a boy named David. David has autism so something is always happening in there house. Catherine's new neighbor Kristi came over to Catherine's house. And she did not want David to mess it up. There is also a boy named Ryan who is really mean to David. But Ryan and Kristi are friends. So this might not be good. iIf you want to know more read the book. It is good
