The Ready to Read Electronic Reader and 10 Interactive Learning Books set is an electronic reading system designed to help children ages 3 and older learn to read. The set contains an electronic reader (it looks like an oversized pen), six activity books, and four storybooks, all containing dozens of interactive touch points activated when a child touches the electronic reader to a page. Children use the electronic reader to listen to stories and hear how words are spelled and pronounced, as well as to play music and do other fun activities. No computer or downloads are required.

Each of the books in the Ready to Read Electronic Reader and 10 Interactive Learning Books set feature dozens of educational interactive activities that enhance the learning process and set children on a path to reading. Icons on each page trigger these activities:

The electronic reader is shaped like a cartoon monkey, matching the character featured in all 10 books in the set. The reader features an on/off button, a built-in speaker, and headphone jack (headphones not included). It turns off automatically after two minutes of inactivity to preserve battery life. Two AAA batteries that power the electronic reader are included. The set conforms to the toy safety requirements of ASTM F963-08.
