The fantasy adventure that launched the international bestselling series, with over 5 million copies sold in the U.S. alone!

They have always scared him in the past—the Rangers, with their dark cloaks and shadowy ways. The villagers believe the Rangers practice magic that makes them invisible to ordinary people. And now 15-year-old Will, always small for his age, has been chosen as a Ranger’s apprentice. What he doesn’t yet realize is that the Rangers are the protectors of the kingdom. Highly trained in the skills of battle and surveillance, they fight the battles before the battles reach the people. And as Will is about to learn, there is a large battle brewing. The exiled Morgarath, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, is gathering his forces for an attack on the kingdom. This time, he will not be denied. . . .

Here is the fantasy adventure that launched the Ranger's Apprentice series, an epic story of heroes and villains that has become an international phenomenon. Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, T.H. White’s The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin’s Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire series.

this is a great series this is a great author i've only read two i hope their all good

This series is really good. I loved all the castles, knights, sword, bows and arrows, and duh... the rangers. I really like the whole series and there is nothing more I can say.

This series is only good for the plot. The language is average but what separates this book from the rest is how the story works. It's pretty interesting, gets a little repetitive but not that much, and the strategy is realistic too.

This book is one of the most well written books I have ever read. If I could live in a book, I would live in this one!

I think this book is awesome, it really keeps u on the edge of your seat. Also I give congrats to the writer, can really put you on a cliff hanger literally!!! It's really hard to put down.

This book is amazing. It is set in an imaginary kingdom in medieval times, and is about a 15 year old boy named Will. Will is an orphan who lives in a ward in Castle Redmont under the care of a friendly baron named Arald. When orphans are 15 years old, they must choose a craft to be apprenticed to. But sometimes, they don't have a choice because they might not be good at anything. Will wants to sign up for battleschool, but he is too small. Then, a ranger named Halt tells him that Will should be a ranger, and this is about book is about what happens next.

This book was amazing! I was still thinking about it a week after I finished reading it!

A guy in my class last year asked me if I wanted to join his book group in class and we read this book. I read the beginning, thinking it was going to be like other books: slow, boring, and not very important. But this book had a very strong beginning and captivated me quickly, plus, parts in the beginning are really important to the basis of the story! Very exciting towards the middle and the end! Love the epilogue, too!! But that's just me! You should read it for yourself!
