Pri is from india, and lives with her mom. Pri doesn't know much about india and wants to go there and learn about her history, her mom won't let her( classic mom move in most single parent books i read). Then she finds a magic sari that takes her to india. so far so good.
Priyanka Das has lived her life in America. Her mother came from India when she was still young, and Pri has always wondered what it was like. India only lives in her imagination until one day she finds a pashmina (a special scarf) that shows her India with more bright colors than she has ever seen. When she gets an opportunity to go to India with her aunt, she discovers that the India she saw only exists inside of the pashmina. That is all I can say that is spoiler-free! I loved this book because of the bright colors, great storyline, and amazing pictures. It would be a great read for ages 8 and up. This book is a 5 star in my mind. I hope you like it!
