I read this book in school and it was amazing. It is a heart-warming story of friendship, trust, and war. The ending is really sad, but it is a great book. If you like historical fiction, this is the book for you.

I picked the book because the topic of "Natzi life". This book is about a little girl who faces many obstacles on her way to freedom. She loses family and gains a friend.
I just started this book yesterday. I wonder how it will be for the young girls, Annemarie, Ellen, and Kirsti in World War II (WW II). I'm very curious and worried about this book. Would they be brave and courageous to fight with the soldiers? Would the die?
