This book is about a boy named Sam Gribley he ran away from his parents to a forest where his great grandfather had a farm. Sam thought that his great grandfather was still alive and that is part of the reason why he ran away. The other reason is that he did not like it in the city because it was too noisy. He hollowed out a tree and and started to live there, he got a little lonely so he stole a hawk from it's mother and started to live with it. I recommend this book for ages 9-15 because it is a little too violent for people who are younger.

This book is about a boy named Sam. He went out to live in a tree he carved his self. And lived on his very one on a mountain, with his bird frightful.
This book was ok. Not too good but not too bad the main character Sam Gribley was the best thing in the book I would recommend this book to anyone ages 9-14
i think this book is a little boring because its all about nature and how to survive on your own and i don't really like to learn about nature but if you like nature i recommend it.
My side of the mountain is a great adventure book about a young boy named Sam running away from home. On his journey he learns many lessons about the wilderness. I would recommend this book to those who feel like Sam(who wants to run away from home.)
I love this book my favorite part is when the boy finds his new bird, "frightful"
