Now a musical!

Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she's just a nuisance. She expects school to be different but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a menacing, kid-hating headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It'll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!

Here is Roald Dahl's original novel of a little girl with extraordinary powers. This much-loved story has recently been made into a wonderful new musical, adapted by Dennis Kelly with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

matilda is a young girl girl that grows up with bad parents. Her parents don't care about college or school, just about telivision.Meanwhile, Matilda discovers that she has magical powers!Matilda can lift things up and control things with her mind but, only when she feels preasured or someone is mad at her. i would really recomend this book.

Matilda is a awesome book but I made me think I should do good in school so I don't get hurt. it made me think you should keep what you had

This is a good book about a girl who loves to read. She walks to the library and reads every book in the house. She is such a confident reader.

"Matilda" was a great book. It was about a really smart young girl who had just started her first year of school. She was very smart and she did not have listen to her teacher. All she had to do is to study the book herself. Matilda's school has a really mean headmaster. Matilda has a find way to get rid of the headmaster.

Matilda is an astounding child, but her parents act as if she was stupid. Imagine a little 4 year old reading grown up level books and knowing the whole twelves times table! When she finally goes to kindergarten, she has the worst principal ever! Imagine your principal swinging people around by their hair and throwing them down a two story window. However Matilda has the nicest teacher. Miss Honey. Matilda discovers her superpower, and uses it to give everybody their rights. Including Miss Honey!

I was so pleased to see this book on your summer reading list! I love Matilda (and pretty much anything by Roald Dahl). I've been a little disappointed that this year, Dahl's books seem to be spending too much time on my classroom shelves. Matilda is an exciting read for kids beginning to develop a passion for reading. Young readers can empathize with Matilda and her love of books. This book is packed with action, magic, family struggles, and tenderness. Matilda has something for everyone!
