In this riveting debut, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world—before the wrong person finds the answer first.
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. And Sophie has a secret—she’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and almost instantly she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.
But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.

This book is great!
A very awesome story about a girl named sophie foster who has been a telepath since she was little and because of this she starts a new life in a new place with devastating ties to her past.
love it !
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the book I thought there where moments where you wanted to cry and some when you just sat there and lafed .
It is amazing.
This story is really good. It's one of the books my friend told me to read, and it's awesome! It's about a girl named Sophie who is a twelve year old high school senior and got a full scholarship to Yale, because she can read minds, and she finds out she's actually an elf from another elf named Fitz. That's all I'm gonna say, but you should read it!
Sophie Foster is not a normal twelve year old girl. She is a telepath; she can hear the thoughts of everyone around her. Then one day she meets Fitz, another telepath whose thoughts she can’t hear. He tells her that she’s an elf and changes her life forever. She is forced to leave the human world and live with Grady and Edaline in their mansion in the elf world. As Sophie learns to feel at home both at school, and at the mansion, she has to start all over in school and learn the true meanings of things and to discard everything she learned in the human world. As Sophie struggles with her classes, she is also being manipulated by an organization that wants to land her into big trouble-and possibly exile her. In this suspenseful and magical debut,Shannon Messenger is sure to win fans with her incredible storytelling. What I thought about it: Keeper Of The Lost Cities was a very enchanting read. The magical world of the elves that Shannon Messenger created seems so realistic, with all types of magical creatures, subjects and powers. She paints a bold picture in your head so you can really visualize it. Telepathy seems like an awesome skill but would be quite a burden in the human world. Also, once again, I judged this book by its cover. It is SO epic. It just makes you want to read it. This book was so jam-packed with action and suspense and manipulation that you are on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is going to happen next. Shannon Messenger writes with so many visuals, and her writing is very fluent. I am looking forward to more wonderful books written by her.
