Brian Robeson is about to encounter something unexpected from the abyss of bad luck. This may even be life changing for him, especially at his age of 13. As he is traveling from the United States over to Canada to see his Father after his parents divorce that unexpected thing was rearing its ugly face, towards him. Suddenly, he is stuck in the middle of nowhere with only a tattered jacket, his outfit, and a hatchet that his Mother gave to him. After all this pressure from everything he had experienced before, and the secret that has been nagging at him for years, he had to build himself up and learn, the new Brian. Overall this book deserves a 4, why not a 5? Well one chapter was really disgusting, and sometimes things can get freaky and out of hand. But what is good about the book is that it has a very unexpected series of events and you would want to keep this book gripped to your hands to see what happens next, there is really never a dull moment in this book, and the other books by the same author are just as great! I would recommend this book to anyone who is in 5th grade or up, and someone who doesn't really care about gore being in one chapter if that's okay. And my favorite part is at the very end which is also the biggest spoiler but since I don't want to spoil anything you are going to have to figure that out. Happy reading!
Thirteen-year-old, Brian Robeson crashes in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but the hatchet his mother gifted & the clothes on his back. His parents have recently gone through a divorce, and what was meant to be Brian's visit to his father, has suddenly arose into disaster after the pilot undergoes an unexpected heart attack. When all hope seems lost, Brian is forced to survive under the harsh wilderness on his own. While reading this, you begin to understand the limits that he's willing to take in order for his survival. Overall, this book offers a new experience. Personally, I found it quite entertaining, if you're into survival, this one's for you. My opinion on Brian is that he never gives up and he stays focused on what he has to do to survive in the Canadian wilderness. Brian is my favorite character in the book bc learns lots of new survival tricks on his journey. . It's really good and I recommend being 10 or older for this book in my opinion.
The book Hatchet was a great book to read! My favorite part was when Brian was got up,after a bad crash he didn't whine and say I don't want to. He looked for food and got a positive mindset. This didn't just happen overnight! It happened in a series of events that wouldn’t take place on an ordinary day. Before the crash happened Brian's mom was skeptical. She had a secret that no one knows about or at least that's what his mom thinks. She also gave Brian a hatchet before he went to his dads. The whole car ride to the destination was quiet . Brian would get sad and depressed about this secret; it wasn't a good one.It was a sad summer this had been the first summer his parents were divorce ,and his dad still didn't know the secret (nor do you READ the book trust me ). The divorce was hard for Brian, while he was fighting to survive he changed. Instead of playing on his phone he was looking at the sunset. He was enjoying it, not just looking. I would definitely recommend this book if you love a good twist once and awhile. It is an adventurous book and you never know what's going to happen next. You don’t know if he will find food, make a shelter or even get down on himself and then get back up. I definitely would rate this book 5/5 because I love a good adventurous book. Read the whole book to figure out what happens next, what the big secret is and how he crashed.
Hachet Review This was an amazing book in my opinion . My favriote part was most likely when he started setting up camp. I think brian is very smart. You should hear all of the things he has come up with . If I were you I would deftly consider reading the book hatchet it has adventure , tragedy, and happyness. I think this book is worth 5 stars.
-Lucas Morrison I think Hatchet was a great book for me. Hatchet is a survival book based on a 13 year old kid named Brian Robenson that lived in New-York with his mom. He was going to go see his father that lived in Canada but as he was on his way disaster struck forcing him to live on his own and adapt and learn how to survive, like having to find food when he needed it the most. I like how he begins to remember his experience from watching survival shows and figures out how to do things on his own. In the outcome he becomes way more mature from his experience .My opinion about Brian he is smart and always aware. I would greatly recommend this book because of how thrilling it is to read and its many exciting events.
Gary Paulsen, an award-winning writer for the books Dogsong, Hatchet, and The Winter Room. But my FAVORITE book is called hatchet. The main character is a 13-year-old boy whose name is Brian. His parents are also divorced. He survives a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness on the route to visit his father and must use the hatchet his mother once gave him to stay alive. Brain struggles to find food but miraculously manages to find some meals like berries, fish, and birds, all with the help of his trusty hatchet. Now it all just comes down to the “, secret.”
Hatchet is a very adventurous book about a 13 year old boy who gets stranded . I really enjoyed all the cliffhangers I received at the end of the chapter which made me want to read more. This book has amazing use of figurative language and sensory details. My favorite part is when the boy changes into a different mindset. I also enjoyed every part of the book. There was no boring part for me and all the sentences kept me reading the book. I recommend this book to people from grade 4 to grade 6. My opinion on the boy is that the changes to him changed the entire story and the outcome.
Hatchet is a survival book with a bunch of adventures. It all begins with a 13 year boy heading to Canada to see his father who moved away because he is now divorced to his mom who lives in New York. Brain the 13 year old boy who lives with his mom and that's how he found out about the Secret. My favorite part is when Brain is trying to find food out in the wilderness. I would recommend this book for people from the age of 11 to 14, because there might be some hash language. One character I am fond of is Brain, because I love how he tries to get home safely. Also, I love that there's some attacks that happen in this book.
I highly recommend this book because it has a lot of action and surprises in it. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Brian changed and his attitude and mindset got much better. One of my least favorite parts was when the porcupine got his leg. The main person in this story is a young 13 year old boy named Brian Robeson, after his parents divorced because of “the secret”, Brian was going over to his dad at the Canadian Oil Fields for the summer. My opinion of Brian is really good but at the beginning I thought he was going to give up, but he pushed through all of the pain and ended up being a hard worker. When Brian was on the island it was really hard to find food in the beginning, but towards the end of the book Brian started thriving in many things. He also runs into many animals like moose, bears, wolves and more. If I were to give this book an overall rating out of 5 I would give it a 4.7 because this book has a lot of detail but I have never been the biggest fan of survival books but the amazing detail makes up for most of it.
