This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

I literally JUST finished this book, and it is really good. Harry Potter is stuck living with his mean aunt and uncle, and his ANNOYING cousin who gets whatever he wants. Meanwhile, Harry is stuck living in a cupboard underneath the stairs. But whenever Harry is around, strange things happen. Then, he gets in trouble even though he has no idea why those things happen. One day, Harry get a letter. His uncle snatches it before he can read it. He gets more, and more, until his family deals like they are being watched. Everywhere they go, the letters come to that exact address, even on an island. Exactly when Harry was born, on his birthday, a large man comes in to the cabin on the island. He tells Harry something that will change his life, and yet his aunt and uncle had hidden the information from him his WHOLE LIFE!

I'm already on book 5 I 💖💖💖💖💖 Harry Potter. Icall my little group of friends at school the Hogwarts kids because we all love Harry Potter.

I love this book! My favorite character is Hermoine Granger. I would rate this book ten stars if I could!

If you haven't read this, you're missing out on more than you could ever know. JKR's style of writing is beautiful, and the magical world is so exciting. I spent the summer before sixth grade wishing for a Hogwarts acceptance letter.

Very magical; full of excitement!
