Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.
All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.
For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This is the first Harry Potter book I ever read. My favorite character was Hermione, although she was pretty snooty and bossy. I never thought Voldemort(yes, I said it) was living on the back of a teacher's head! I tried to imagine it, and it was pretty creepy(Actually, I don't know how Voldemort looks like).
If you like Harry Potter, I recommend the Lord of the Rings
AAAAAAAA! I love Harry Potter! This is by far the BEST one, and I think that it's realy good. I've loves Harry Potter books since I was six, and I've seen the movies sicne I was five. GREAT book! By the way, was J. K. Rowling write any other books?
Harry Potter in my opinion, is the best series out there. If you or someone you know wants a good, fictional book to read, this is probably the book for you. Harry Potter is violent series though. It has plenty cussing and is not a book you should read if you get emotional at death like I do. I read this book anyway and like to push through my emotions, but if you do not like doing that, this may not be the right book for you.
It is such a good book that is very compelling and intriguing. It keeps you on the edge of the chair waiting and looking for the next event. Then there are twists at every turn. You would not get bored at all reading this book. The description of the characters will come alive right in front of you.
ive wached all the movies there great

When he finally does make it to Hogwarts everyone stares at him and he has a rough time but he befriends Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger who become his best friends. Eventually he and his friends discover a trap door where they think a very important package is being hidden and where Snape one of the Hogwarts professors is trying to steal it. He and his friends go down together but for the very last obstacle he is on his own. And instead of finding Snape there he finds Quirell another professor and when he unwraps his turban he doesn’t have a normal head because on the back of his head is the face he who must not be named or if you are brave enough to say it Lord Voldemort. Will Harry escape from Voldemort or will he perish? Read the book to find out! I left out some parts of the story in this summa so you have to read the book to learn the details. I recommend this for second or third graders and up there is no maximum age.
I read this book at least 30 times. For real.
