This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

amazing book filled with magic suspense and mystery. great book for family reading time as well as the whole series. i would defiantly read again and again.

Harry potter is a half blood his father is a full blood wizard and his mother a wizard but daughter of two muggles (non-wizards). When Harry is born he lives happily with his parents. In the wizard world there is one evil wizard who reads a prophecy that a baby more powerful than him will be born. full of rage he goes to Harry's house. His father opens the door and Voldemort(the evil wizard) kills him with the avadacadavra spell. He looks for Harry and tries to kill him but his mother protects him and dies instead. then no one else is around to "avadacadavra" Voldemort casts the spell, but the baby doesn't die instead he is left with a lighting bolt shaped scar. Harry gets brought to his aunt, uncle and there son. Harry doesn'tfit in there and his aunt hates magic. one day he can understand a snake talk and gets a letter. He got accepted to Hogwarts the school for wizards and witches. Hagrid come to pick him up to go buy a robe and school supplies for hogwarts. then he embarks the train to Hogwarts (the hogwarts express). on the train he meets Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger daughter of two muggles. turns out Harry potter is famous in the wizard world. Harry, Ron, and Hermoine all get picked into the house gryffindor for the brave. Together with friends the embark on a magical adventure. I recommend this book it is worth reading

Having a muggle-born mother does NOT make someone a half-blood. When a wizard and a muggle have a child, that child is a half-blood. Example: Voldemort is a half-blood, Harry is a blood traitor.

This is about Harry Potter, Hermoine and Ron going in a secret place to do alive chess', a mind game that could kill you, and then he broke the sorcerer's stone.

this book is the best book in the whole world! from the beginning to the very end, there is lots and lots and lots of magic!

I really liked the book. It was exiting how Harry Potter Defeated Voldemort. It must have been horrible to live with the Dursleys. It was also pretty funny when all the letters started arriving and flying through the house.

Harry Potter touched my heart, feelings, and emotions. The book was my inspiration for reading books that are a challenge and more. It gave me the feeling that I can write books like Harry Potter one day that are at least half as good. Or maybe a tenth. It's my dream to be an amazing author like J.K. Rowling. Either if you were an editor, a reader, or a writer you would all work to together like gears in a clock. That's why we need teamwork. Character traits like teamwork were shown throughout the book in Harry Potter and all the other characters. It's an important tool you need in everyday life as a vital value.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is an awesome book! It's about a boy named Harry Potter who is living a miserable life with his cranky and horrible uncle, aunt, and their spoiled son. When he recieves a mysterious letter, he is pulled into the world of magic and discovers he is actually a wizard. He finds not only new friends and a school for wizards, but a great destiny that has been awaiting him. This is a really exciting and adventurous book, and I definitely recommend this book.

This book is about Harry Potter and his friends, Ron and Hermione, who tried to prevent Professor Snape from getting in a secret room where the Sorcerer's Stone is hidden, and they succeeded. I was surprised that Harry was able to ride a broomstick so swiftly even he is just in the first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The most impressive scene was when they found out that the Sorcerer's Stone which has a power to make anybody who drank the Elixir of Life made from it immortal, is hidden in a secret room by looking for clues in the library ! I highly recommend this book to you guys who like science fantasy and science fiction!!

I have read the whole Harry Potter series and this is the start of a really good series and I would recommend this book to anyone. This book includes magic, power, mystery, friendship and love.

In this book Harry discovers - a. He is a wizard b. How his parents really died c. Hogwarts exists d. The person who killed Harry's parents is called Lord Voldemort, he has disappeared ( unfortunately ) I really liked this book :)
