This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

This book is about Harry Potter and his friends, Ron and Hermione, who tried to prevent Professor Snape from getting in a secret room where the Sorcerer's Stone is hidden, and they succeeded. I was surprised that Harry was able to ride a broomstick so swiftly even he is just in the first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The most impressive scene was when they found out that the Sorcerer's Stone which has a power to make anybody who drank the Elixir of Life made from it immortal, is hidden in a secret room by looking for clues in the library ! I highly recommend this book to you guys who like science fantasy and science fiction!!

I am with you great book

Harry Potter is an ordinary child (Maybe not so ordinary) until his eleventh birthday, when owls start coming to his aunt and uncle's house, where he lives. Letters come for him, but his abusive uncle won't let him have them. They do everything to keep him from getting that letter, until they resort to hiding in a small cottage, on a rock, in the middle of the ocean. In the middle of the night, a friendly half-giant named Hagrid comes so that Harry can finally get his letter. Harry finds out that he is a wizard, and that his parents were murdered by Voldemort, an evil wizard who's downfall was Harry. Hagrid tells him about a wizarding school called Hogwarts, where he finds two great friends named Hermione and Ron, a magic mirror which shows his greatest desire, and two people who aren't what Harry thought. He also meets Draco Malfoy, a boy who's favorite thing to do is being mean, along with his friends, Vincent Crabbe, and Gregory Goyle. This is a great book!

I felt that this was an amazing book, and a great starter to the amazing wizarding world of Harry Potter. This book is about a seemingly average boy named Harry Potter who always seems to have weird things happen around. But one day he receives a letter from a school called Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry and he is told that he is a wizard. Harry then goes to Hogwarts and has all crazy kinds of adventures, including fighting for the first time against the evil wizard who killed his parents, Lord Voldemort. It has such strong plot lines, mixed in with adventure and occasional jokes, it is one of the best books I have ever read.

I love J.K Rowling but everyone dies (spoiler!) But in the last book why did Harry throw away the ring? He killed Siris, Lupin, and his parents spirits when he threw the ring. Voldemert can't open his puch, so he should've put it there... And he saved Malfoys life.... He didnt even thank him! :o I guess boys don't know what thank you means, ya know? Lol no offense. I mean the boys in the book, tbh.

Hi. I read the whole series 3 times. J.K. Rowling has written lots of books, but these are her hits. Js.

Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone is one of the best books ever made and to anyone reading this (if you have not already) you should read the whole Harry Potter series!

This is a favorite in my family. A very, exciting read. Hogwarts seems like the most magical place in the world. A very well written book.
