Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.
All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.
For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

ITS ONE OF THE GREATS IN THE BOOK WORLD!!!
Its true
When I was little and I watched the movie, it was so boring. When I got into 4th Grade everyone was reading it and I was wondering if those are a good series. My friend then made me read the first book and it was so good. I was so obsessed with it I finished the series in a week.
I saw harry potter in costume day
At first when I was in, 3rd grade, everyone was reading these books, and I wasn't impressed. I'd tried to read it, and the words were just bland. But then, in 4th grade, my mom, me, and my sister started it. I was amazed. I wanted to read more and more. This book is awesome. Amazing. Incredible.
When beginning this book, I hated it. Not only could I not escape it, for "The boy who lived" was brought up in every conversation, but I also thought it was childish. I mean wizards and witches and an evil villain with no nose? Creepy right? I also couldn't make myself finish the first chapter. It just seemed to last forever, and when Harry is with the Dursleys, It is probably the most boring thing you will ever see. So I had to push myself so hard to get through the first 3 chapters. And from their, it took off. Not only was there magic in the book, but there was magic in the words, the chapters. Every sentence kept me wanting to read it. What with The Hogwarts Expres, the majestic streets of Diagon Alley, and Who can forget the welcoming halls of Hogwart School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where everyone is at home. And who can forget the loving and evil characters? You don't have to listen to a random person on the internet such as me, but I am begging you, if you haven't already read this book, please do. It's undescribable, like no other.
