Catrina and her family are moving to the coast of Northern California because her little sister, Maya, is sick. Cat isn't happy about leaving her friends for Bahía de la Luna, but Maya has cystic fibrosis and will benefit from the cool, salty air that blows in from the sea. As the girls explore their new home, a neighbor lets them in on a secret: There are ghosts in Bahía de la Luna. Maya is determined to meet one, but Cat wants nothing to do with them. As the time of year when ghosts reunite with their loved ones approaches, Cat must figure out how to put aside her fears for her sister's sake -- and her own.

Raina Telgemeier has masterfully created a moving and insightful story about the power of family and friendship, and how it gives us the courage to do what we never thought possible.

Great book :)

When Catrina and her family move to Bahía de la Luna at first Catrina doesn't want to leave all of her friends, but eventually she warms up to Bahía de la Luna.

I love this book! I had recently read this and it was really good. Catrina and her family move to the coast of Northern California due to her little sister, Maya. Maya has Cystic Fibrosis. It affects breathing and digestion. Cat thinks that they're moving mainly for Maya since she won't be having fast food in California. When they finally arrive at their new home, Maya really enjoys it, but not Cat. She misses her friends and wants to go back. When the lights suddenly go out, Cat takes Maya for a walk. Maya finds a small passageway that leads to a scary forest. They end up on a high rooftop by the ocean. They keep searching around and find other amazing things. One day, Cat and Maya go on a ghost hunt and finds many of them. They seem to haunt Cat and Maya. They circle around Maya because she is holding their favorite drink. But when she accidentally drops it, the ghosts hurt Maya. Cat quickly brings Maya back home but she as to be connected to a breathing tank now. THouhgout the book, many exciting things happen, but there are still sad times, like this one. I would recommend this book to people who liked all of the books that Raina Telgemeier wrote as well as graphic novels.

I have yet to read this book, but if I can ever get my hands on it, I would definitely be overjoyed. I've read many of Raina Telgemeir's books including, Sisters, Smile, and Drama. All of them were amazing, with great humor, amazing plot lines, and beautiful illustrations. I have high hopes for Ghosts. The book is calling my name.

Catrina/cat and Mayalita/Maya are moving a stranger says there is ghosts in the city Maya wants to see a ghost but Cat does not agree and there was ghosts what will happen to Maya ? will Cat be scared read the book to find out these questions

This book is about two girls named Catrina and Maya. Maya has a disease called Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that affects breathing and digestion. Sadly there is no cure. That is the main reason Catrina and Maya`s parents have decided to move to Bahia De La Luna, California. Catrina does not want to go but she knows it is better for Maya`s health. Later on their neighbor, Carlos tells them that there are a lot of ghosts up at the mission in their town. Catrina does not like the idea of ghosts and gets sorta scared but, Maya is fine with it. Carlos then takes Maya and Catrina out for a ghost tour where Maya meets some ghosts and then Carlos gives her some kind of orange pop soda to make the ghosts come closer to her. But, then Maya drops the soda and the ghosts start swirling around her. Since Maya has Cystic Fibrosis she can`t handle it. Carlos and Catrina have to call 911. Catrina gets mad at Carlos for taking them on a ghost tour. As school starts Catrina starts to think that everyone in their town is obsessed with ghosts. Very soon it is Halloween Maya can not go because of the disease but, Catrina can. So Catrina meets up with her friends to do some trick or treating. After trick or treating there is a party for Dia De Los Muertos with the ghosts. At the party Catrina forgives Carlos, has a great time, and discovers who she truly is.

Catrina and her family are moving to Bahia de la Luna, because her sister Maya, is sick, and the air will help her condition. Little do they no that many ghosts live here! I would give this book 5 stars because it is a great story that you are sure to love, with all its mystery and fun. I also would recommend this book to kids 5-12 because it is more of a kid story then an adult book. The cliffhanger at the end leaves you wishing there was a sequel!

Well, this is an awesome graphic novel. If you want suspense and action and some drama this is the best book ever. So have fun reading it.

This is a fun book.It is all about Cat and Maya.Cat is Maya's sister. The family moves to a diffrent town because of her sister,Maya.Maya and Cat felt sad. If I were Cat I would say"I don't want to move".I felt very SORRY. Cat and Maya learned a lot about friendship by making friends at new school. They met the new neighbors at an old building.Maya and Cat go on a ghost tour. They meet ghost.Cat did not think it was true,I think they were brave because they were brave enough to go on a ghost tour.Maya gets sick.Mom and dad got MAD at Cat.Cat is supose to take care of Maya.I felt very sad at that point. Cat went to Mexico holiday . She made friends with ghosts. I REALLY LOVE THIS BOOK!

Another Raina Telgemeier great, Ghosts is a story of Mexican culture and perseverance. Cat and her family move to Bahia de la Luna because of Cat's little sister, Maya. Maya has a disease where she needs the right conditions of land to live in. Bahia de la Luna has those conditions. While that may be great for Maya, it's not so great for Cat. Anyone who's moved before knows it's hard, leaving friends, your school, your town. But when a new neighbor takes them on a ghost tour, the town gets a whole lot more interesting. Maya and Cat find out ghosts are real! But they're mostly friendly, not something to be scared of. After an accident with Maya and the ghosts, Cat is bitter. Why would the ghosts ever hurt Maya? Maya, on the ther hand, loves the ghosts. On Día de los Muertos, the holiday where the dead are celebrated, Cat and Maya may get to see the ghosts again... With the stunning pictures and great story, Ghosts hits the spot.
